The Director and Don Juan (The Blueberry Lane Series) by Katy Regnery

From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a brand new series set on Blueberry Lane!

The Director and Don Juan is the second of four books about the Philadelphia-based Story sisters who are all on the look-out for love.

Heiress Alice Story left her father's company three years ago in a blaze of glory, inviting all of his employees to jump ship and join her, but only one accepted her offer: mail room clerk, Carlos Vega.

While Alice spent the next three years getting her own company off the ground, Carlos became her indispensable right-hand man -- executive assistant and office manager, loyal counsel and trusted co-worker.

And all the while, they were quietly falling in love with each other.

When Alice is offered a lucrative business deal in Puerto Rico, island-born Carlos is the perfect person to accompany her on her trip as translator. But as they travel together from Philadelphia to Santo Domingo to Ponce, two unlikely co-workers will discover that their feelings for each other have grown far deeper than they ever could have guessed.

And though business-minded, proper Alice will try her very best to ignore the longings of her heart, scorching hot, insanely sexy Boricua, Carlos, has no intention of letting her go.

The Director and Don Juan is another heartwarming and sexy romance from author Katy Regnery. You will fall in love with Carlos and Alice! Why did I love this book? • The MC, Carlos Vega, is Puerto Rican and we need more books with diversity! Carlos left Puerto Rico and his family to pursue his business career. Right away fell in love with Carlos. Just like most young men Carlos has had his fun with women. Now he’s matured and has his eyes on his future – his career and a family. Carlos is intelligent, sexy, charismatic and passionate. When Alice stood up to her father he was the only one to stand by her side and believe in her. I loved how his role as Alice’s assistant became a way for Carlos to always be there for her and support her. He may have started as a player but he matured and knew that his love for Alice couldn’t compare to any other woman. • Alice is strong, intelligent, independent and beautiful. Despite being mistreated by her father she is a caring person and treats her staff with respect. • Alice and Carlos’ romance was a slow build. Their years of working together had built a relationship of trust, loyalty and respect. I loved that their feelings grew stronger over the years and that this wasn’t an instant love affair. • The chemistry between Alice and Carlos is sizzling but they also connect on an emotional level. They have some steamy scenes but their heartfelt discussions reveal how much they care for each other. • As with all the books in the Blueberry Lane series, The Director and Don Juan is a quick read and the perfect way to add a little romance to your day. Katy Regnery continues to be one of my favorite authors. I always know that her books will have romance, characters I will fall in love, and family unity. The Director and Don Juan will have you swooning and coming back for more from this author.

ARC for honest review with no compensation The Director and Don Juan by Kate Regency is the 2nd book of the Story Sisters and a continuation of the Blueberry Lane Series! ! ! Love revisiting and catching up with characters from the series…. Alice Story has worked in her father’s company since she was a young girl, even though she has gone on to college and business school to show her father she is more than capable of running the business he always pats her on the back and give her promotions to someone else. Enough is enough and she decided to quit and start her own company asking anyone at her father’s company if they want to join her but the only taker is Carlos Vega, the mail room person. Carlos Vega came to America from Puerto Rico with his college degree but the only job he could find was the mail room at Alice’s father’s company. Hoping that he could move up in the company but like Alice that’s not happening…..so….when he sees Alice quit and ask if anyone wants to join her new company is jumps on board and becomes her right hand man, sounding board, and is slowing falling in love with her but thinks she is way out of his reach because he is seven younger that her. With the company growing stronger and expanding every day, these two find in their own private thoughts that friendship is not enough but don’t know how to navigate past the friendship stage. Taking a business trip to Puerto Rico changes this but still obstacles remain….. Can these two find their HEA or will they just remain Boss and Assistant???? Once you start reading you will not want to put I down because you want to find out what happens next…..thanks Kate for an awesome book! ! Looking forward to the next Story sister…….

Once again, Katy Regnery knows how to make this girl swoon. This latest in the Blueberry Lane series features Alice Story, the oldest and the most seemingly uptight. However, she is a true force of nature, a Norma Rae and Jerry Maguire all wrapped up into one tough woman. With everything in order in her life, her company striving after her blow out with her dominating father, never did she ever imagine falling for the one man who trusted her enough to follow her when no one else would, her right-hand man in Carlos Vega. Holy moly. Carlos Vega. Let him call me Mami. Oh that man is all the goodness tenfold. His debonair Latin ways. His devotion to the woman he can't get out of his head. I was rooting for him from the very start to make Alice, his Al-eese, to let go a bit. To experience lust and passion and most importantly love. He is like a live wire and when Alice gets just one charge at the slight touch of his hand, all bets are off. She is his, whether she knows it or not. The writing is as usual so easy to read. The flow is always perfect and the author has a true gift for writing about falling in love like it's the only thing that will ever matter. And although Carlos and Alice come from different worlds, their story proves that love can prevail despite the odds against it, if you just open your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed watching as these two find their way to each other. There are some detours but Katy Regnery doesn't make us suffer, thank goodness. It's a book filled with smart banter between Alice and Carlos together with a love that is built on respect, trust and faith. Together with the loyalty from most of the Story sisters, it's well worth your time. It's simply a great series that keeps getting better and better with each new book. 4.5 stars!

Wow!!! Katy really has a way with words, always has. I loved getting to know the Story Sisters, this is the first book I have read with this spin off of Blueberry Series. Of course, I loved it like I have loved every other book. If you ever wondered if you loved Latin men, well, this book is for you. Alice Story is a strong, feisty woman. She left her family business with her father, invited everyone to come with her, which only the mail room Carlos came with her. Three years blur by, and Carlos has watched Alice, he knows her in's and out's, he knows what she likes, what she doesn't like, he is her assistant after all. I loved this book wasn't a "insta-romance". The timing was perfect, the characters were perfect, just about everything was perfect, heck.. Katy Regnery wrote it! (You should really just put her on your "insta-buy" list when it comes to authors.) Carlos is an amazing part of this story. He is in fact younger than Alice, but he doesn't let that destroy the chances, heck, the romance is real with these two. It is like Katy watched a relationship bloom in front of her eyes as she wrote this book about Alice and Carlos. Get your book, find a beach.. enjoy the book!

5 Stars! OMG this book! Alice Story took a chance three years ago on starting her own company and the man who took a chance and followed her there. Carlos worked in the mailroom at Story Imports, but he wanted more. When Alice Story abruptly quits and offers him a chance at her new company, he trusts her and goes. Over the next three years, Alice works hard to build her business and does so with Carlos by her side as her trusted assistant and friend. Alice trusts him and can't live without him at work, but Carlos has been in love with her the entire time. When she takes him along on a business trip, he sees his opportunity to show her how he feels and how good it can be. This book tackles more than just a forbidden office romance. Regnery addresses ethnicity, sexism, and age differences. She weaves a beautiful tale of romance and emotion, of letting go of fear and letting in the people who really matter. The majority of this book is set in a beautiful, tropical backdrop that lends itself to the romance. The road to happiness for Carlos and Alice is not an easy one, largely due to Alice's own self-doubts. The writing was amazing, as usual. The story flowed and progressed nicely. I loved the extra attention Regnery paid to the cultural aspects of the book. This is hands down my favorite Katy Regnery book!

Through the creative eyes of one woman, readers have had their hearts broken, souls healed and let their imaginations run wild. Katy Regnery has the distinction of being a one click author and a one day read whenever I get my hands on her new releases. The Director and Don Juan is no exception to that rule. Having mastered the art of painting a picture with her descriptive words and emotional tales, Ms. Regnery now tackles subjects like sexism and racism as she choreographs a sensual meeting of souls in the complicated dance of love. Carlos and Alice may come from different backgrounds, but they share a fierce will and deep bond to succeed. He pushed her to take risks and she gave him a chance to prove his worth. They needed each other. With beautiful locations, sexy dialogue and magnetic lead characters, it's no wonder why readers are drawn to this author.
