Duty or Love… she can’t have both.
Dragon Queen Cadeyra has been brought up to do her duty, no matter the personal cost. But that doesn’t mean she can’t get a little… inventive.
When a prince from a foreign land visits and she gets wind he intends to court her, Cadeyra needs to get engaged and fast. But who can she ask to be her fake fiancé who won’t let the honor go to his head?
The only person she needs protection from… is him.
Former general, and one of the feared Blacks who police draconic society, Sawyer has always known Cadeyra is his mate. When she starts talking nonsense about pretending to be engaged to throw an ambitious dragon prince off the trail, he knows one thing for sure—the only man she’s getting engaged to… is him.
But events take a turn for the worse when the court is attacked; first by basilisk, then by magic. Someone wants Cadeyra dead.
Can Sawyer get to the bottom of the attacks in time? Or will he lose the only treasure that’s ever mattered to him…

I was given an Advanced Review Copy, by the author, in return for a honest review. This is the third book in the Council of Black Dragons series. I really loved this novel! Great characters, entertaining, fast-paced plot, and spot on romance. I have to say this is my new favorite in the series. Enjoyable read I'm sure you will fall in love with too! - Sarah
Cadeyra is the white dragon queen. Her dragon color tells of how powerful and rare she is. The elite and her guards are black dragons known for being powerful warriors and able to do things other dragons can't do. They are deadly. Cadeyra wants one of her Black's. Her general sawyer but her dragon hadn't told her he was their mate. Sawyer knew the moment he saw the little white queen that she was his mate but not seeing the same reaction from her. He knew she didn't feel the bond. So their they are in a stalemate until a dragon prince wants to come and claim her. Oh wow this one was so full of action, mystery and fun. It was a book I could not put down. I loved the characters, their really well written and easy to fall for or hate. (bad guys) I love when they are added to a story! Just adds so much more to the story. Dragon fans you will love this one. Don't miss it. Voluntarily read a copy and honestly loved it.
The story was well developed even though it was short
3 Years Loved this book it had me laughing and cheering for the dragon queen Caderya. She is firely but fair ruler. Sawyer is one of the twelve black dragon guards that see to the protection of the queen. He formidable warrior even more so when the queen is in danger, This story had sorcery, betrayal, kick but fight scene (think Adara), slimey prince and forged documents. Now does this story sound interesting or what? Pick up a copy and you will not be disappointed.
I enjoyed this book. There times when I wanted to shake the queen but i forgave her in the end. Definitely recommend reading the previous books in the series first so you aren't lost.
