(Readers, This is a sexy, contemporary romance that includes a forbidden romance, one scene involving physical violence and a stalker. It is intended for those over 18.)

She looks at him and thinks, "Please don't let him be more than twenty-five."

He looks at her and thinks, "Please let her be at least twenty-five."

Neither one of them is.

And that's only one of their problems.

Rye is a man with an ugly past. He didn't come to Baxter, Ohio, looking for a woman, but there she was. Emma is pretty and sweet, and the kind of woman he'd always wanted, but never dreamed he could have. Her innocence and vulnerability tugs at Rye's weary heart, and the sizzling sexual pull between them can't be ignored.

But Emma has a dangerous ex-boyfriend, plus an outraged, overprotective father with a family connection that dooms Rye and Emma's relationship from the start.

That and Rye's dangerous past make it seem impossible for them to have a future together.

About the Author

Three-time Rita nominee and USA Today bestselling author, Teresa Hill lives in the shadows of the Blue Ridge Mountains with a patient, very understanding husband, an incredibly logical son and a highly creative daughter. Together, they share their home with two giant, lazy cats who parade across Teresa's keyboard when they think she's written enough for the day, and two beautiful, lazy dogs, usually at Teresa's side or under her feet.

I seem to be the only one who didn't think this was a great book. I read the first book and loved it,so I got the second and was disappointed. There were no big surprises. In fact, most of the book was just the same story reiterated over and over.

Read the December 26, 2012 review of Twelve days. That was intended for this book. That rate should have been 3-4 stars, my bad. It was a sesitive caring read until it did the almost bedroom scenes. You should be able to correct errors in your report without having to delete and start over. Do read Twelve Days it is decent.

Definitely the best effort from Teresa Hill. Wonderful hero/heroine. Poignant yet not maudlin.

I was intrigued from start to finish. After reading the first book, couldn't wait to start the next one. There were some very interesting life lessons in the book that you can relate to. Would lreally like to see this series become a movie.
