The Edge of Oblivion
On the run from a probation officer, 16 year-old Paul and his disabled friend Billy accept a strange invitation to a magical paradise. For years, outcast children have been recruited here, the invitation delivered by a half-blind, clairvoyant raven named Livingston. For any kid who has ever wanted a second chance at life, Splendor is a refuge, a place where the very thing that made them outsiders, now makes them strangely powerful. But Paul’s presence in Splendor ignites a war. Once a simple garden slug, the Duke has conjured a horrific new body. Acquiring the magic of those he consumes, his power grows daily. Now, as commander of the mutant armies of Oblivion, he ransacks the city in a search for the singular source of magic, the essence that keeps Splendor and her refuges alive. Paul is told he was recruited to Splendor for a reason, that he alone can lead his new friends to save the city. But how? Paul is the only one in Splendor without a magical talent – or is he? Paul must discover the awesome power - and the terrible curse - of his own hidden magic, before he can lead a band of misfit kids into battle against an army of wonderfully weird and grotesque monsters.

About the Author

This novel is the first in a new series that follows Paul Hart, a former juvenile delinquent, as he leads a band of misfit kids to recover the source of magic from a shape-shifting nemesis that was once a pampered house cat. The battle rages from the poisonous wastelands of Oblivion to the cities of Normalcy, and involves a horde of wonderfully weird and grotesque monsters. My background is in the entertainment industry. For many years I made a living as a film editor, writer and producer. I worked on everything from horror films to Scooby Doo. Now I do marketing for technology companies and own a tote bag company, but my real passion is kids stories. With lots of monsters!
