About the Author

Born into a military family in California, I spent the 1st 18 years of my life traveling the US and foreign countries. My father, John C. Beeley, spent 30 years in the Air Force and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Traveling has remained in my blood and I have lived in or visited 6 countries and every state in the Union except Alaska and the New England states.
My passions, which include art, music, reading, gardening, camping and fishing, and laying on a beach, have kept me sane in an every changing world.
I just retired from 16 years as an art teacher, spent 10 years as a journalist, 15 years in the bar and restaurant business, and 7 years in retail management. I am also a reflexologist and alternative health advocate. Being an art teacher was a great joy to me and I'm sorry to see online learning taking over education.
Though I've written and edited hundreds of articles and editorials, created a book of poetry from poems I've been writing since I was a teenager, this is my first fiction book. The Lights Out series will have 3 books in it, with the possibility of many more to come.
I currently live in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona which is now my permanent home.
