Overview

Eekie and Squeeky, the Mouse brothers, climb the mountain with their parents to escape the spring floods. As you follow their adventures, you will find Eekies curiosity and Squeekys brotherly love take them on exciting and sometimes dangerous adventures on the river and in the city. However, they learned lessons about the importance of family and friends.

Their adventure on the river introduces them to the River-Rat family and their children, Reed and Rhoda. Although the River-Rat family warns the Mouse brothers about the dangers in the city, their adventurous spirits lead them to the city and all of its dangers.

You will also meet their helpful and curious friends, Tessie Turtle, Jackie Jack Rabbit, Wise Old Hooty, Mother Deer, and her fawn. Wise Old Hooty teaches Eekie, Squeeky, and their friends the real meaning of Christmas. We celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Audie Cavett Sandifer, a native of Hodge, Louisiana, now resides in Moss Point, Mississippi.

Since retiring from the Moss Point School District, where she managed the Writing to Read/Writing to Write Lab for grades K-2, most of her leisure time is spent reading and attending church activities.

Audie is also the author of a book of poetry titled Capturing the Moment with Poetry from the Heart. Her book of poetry includes verses of inspiration, frivolous moments, and children’s poems.

She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, traveling, and fishing with her son, Philip.
