The Fall of Cadoria (Gods and Runes, #1)

The forces of the powerful Empire of Thargoẑa  are preparing to invade Cadoria.

The Cadorian Prince Tyrran is once more called upon to defend his country.

At Heldwr Fort, the small Cadorian army makes a stand, against the empire's vast army, and the vain commander Chema of Gravia.

The siege is brutal. But, amongst the stench of death, the carnage defies reason to Prince Tyrran. Nothing leading up to the battle made sense. That is until the Cadorians suffer an act of betrayal and treachery.

While the bewildered Prince Tyrran struggles to cope with his defeat, he must face the devastating truth of the betrayal. The Thargoẑans then force him into an agonising choice—betray his country or watch it burn.

With his country now part of the empire, the despondent Prince Tyrran must uncover the traitor's identity and deliver vengeance.

His honour demands it.

"The Fall of Cadoria" is the first book in the "Gods and Runes" series.

About the Author

Paul Willson is from near Reading, UK, and writes a mixture of fantasy novellas and full-length works, notably the Gods & Runes series, The Demon and The Raven, and The Dance of The Blacksmith and The Huntress.

He is married with two children. When writing, his Bengal cat Nala keeps him company.

Before he started writing, he worked for 25 years in the IT industry as a Linux Platform engineer. After redundancy during the pandemic, he began writing to keep himself sane while searching for a new job. At the end of the pandemic, while working in a new position, he kept up his passion for writing until he took the plunge to try to become a full-time author.

When not writing, Paul is either cooking for his family or practising Jujitsu, for which he has earned a black belt. After a long search for his reading time, Paul has discovered it in the quiet after breakfast, when his children have gone to school.
