Reviewed by Bil Howard for Readers' Favorite Don’t have the home, the career, the spouse, or the glamour that you have always dreamed of? Well, according to Bonnie Trachtenberg in The Fine Art of Delusional Thinking, you can have all of that and more. Why spend your life fretting in the real world when you can live it up in one of your own creation? Bonnie has developed the quintessential guide to having it all in this fabulous book. With the perfect list of television shows, movies, and all time greats of delusional history as your daily inspiration, you can maintain your focus on a dream that will keep you giddy with delight and dressed to the nines. There is no point in wasting away in drudgery with demanding children enslaving you for the rest of your life. Live your dreams. Bonnie has even included a section toward the end of her masterpiece which gives testimonials of those who have grabbed for the delusional brass ring and caught hold of it. No matter how nuts others might think you are; grab hold and don’t let go. The horrifying part of this tongue-in-cheek self-help guide is the number of people that I have actually run across who think like this. The Fine Art of Delusional Thinking is a real-life masterpiece of humor. Bonnie Trachtenberg has perfectly entertained with a mix of nostalgia and humor that takes an honest look at the totally off the wall things that people do in order to convince themselves that they are actually someone different than who they are. Some of the greatest examples of delusion are in front of us every day. Here’s the scary part. Every one of use believe a few of those delusions. The Fine Art of Delusional Thinking pokes fun at everyday life in our 21st century world and the crazy idea that we can have it all. Extraordinary!
