The Flutter of Broken Wings
Paul Gaius Chambers is a broken man. His wife and unborn child have died in a car accident, and it has destroyed his faith, and faith is his business. He is a pastor, and now he is on a ninety-day sabbatical to see if he can find his faith again.
On his journey, he meets a small, little man who takes him on a tour of the chaos and degradation that threatens to consume the earth. He is given indisputable evidence that pain and sorrow are a part of life. Will this be enough to save him? Will he be able to say to his congregation, "Never give up?" Will he be able to mean it?

Prince of Peace painting by Akiana Kramark.

About the Author

Maurice E. Bishop was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1941 and lived the first eighteen years of his life living next door to a Methodist Church. He grew up loving the Lord, writing music, and singing in the choir. He joined the air force in 1959 where he became a chaplain’s assistant. Eight years later, he was playing and singing in nightclubs all around Oklahoma. It was bittersweet, and he left the smoke-filled life and began to sing in churches. He is now the leader of a contemporary praise band in the UMC of Kingston, New York. His love of poetry and writing gospel music is paramount for him. Becoming an author was the overflow of his love of Christ put into stories. He lives in New York with his wife, Lorraine, of thirty-two years.
