The Future Of Music & AI
What happens to creativity when Artificial Intelligence begins to compose, sing, and feel?

The Future of Music and Al by Jeevan Atwal takes readers inside the rapidly evolving world where algorithms are not just tools, but collaborators, composers, and even competitors. From songwriting and streaming to copyright and cultural identity, this book unpacks how Al is reshaping the very foundations of music creation and consumption.

Drawing on global case studies, industry insights, and the latest legal developments, from the U.S. and Europe to emerging frameworks in Canada, it explores the promises and tensions of this new frontier: How are artists and producers blending human emotion with machine precision? What happens to authorship, ownership, and royalties in an age of synthetic creativity? Why do questions of consent, authenticity, and transparency matter more than ever? And how policymakers, listeners, and innovators can help define what "real music" means in a digital future?

This book is a clear-eyed guide through the cultural, ethical, and artistic transformation already underway. For musicians, technologists, and curious readers alike, it offers a roadmap for understanding-and shaping-the sound of tomorrow.

About the Author

Jeevan Atwal is a student, a dedicated youth leader, and a passionate guitarist. As a TEDx speaker, Jeevan spoke about How Music Shapes Our Mind. Jeevan has combined his passion for music, service, and innovation to make a lasting impact on his community and beyond. His commitment to uplifting others extends to the elderly, where he has volunteered at numerous nursing homes, performing guitar for residents. Understanding the healing power of music, Jeevan utilizes his performances to uplift spirits, alleviate loneliness, and foster connection.

Jeevan continues to share his gift of music by offering free guitar lessons to underprivileged youth and adults, ensuring that music education is accessible to all.

Jeevan won the Global Volunteer Recognition Medal and the American Citizenship Award in 2025 for civic engagement, leadership, and community service. Jeevan was also awarded the Rising Global Star in Music Advocacy by Future Collaboration in 2025 for being a visionary youth leader who blends music, service, and innovation to inspire global unity, empower communities, and drive positive change through creativity, compassion, and humanitarian leadership. He was also awarded Rising Impact Guitarist of the Year in 2025 at the University of Oxford.

As a recognized member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, Jeevan proudly wrote a song for the Global Youth Awards, celebrating the achievements of young changemakers worldwide. He believes young voices have the power to spark change. Through his experiences, he has seen how music transcends borders and unites people, offering both healing and strength. He created a song to reflect the courage, resilience, and hope of his generation—youth who are standing up for equality, protecting the planet, and reimagining a more peaceful world. The song served as a means of channeling that passion into an anthem of empowerment, reminding us that together we can rise above challenges and shape a brighter future.

He also partners with organizations such as The Guitar Center Foundation and Music Ontario to advance music accessibility and advocacy. As a World Peace Ambassador, he creates music that showcases diversity and breaks down barriers. Through his performances, he has raised funds for peace initiatives and humanitarian causes using his platform to advocate for social justice and equality.
