About the Author

Katia Rabelo-Beacroft is originally from Fortaleza, Brazil. She now lives in Surbiton, England, with her husband and two children. Since she became a mother, she has spent a lot of time reading bedtime storybooks to her daughter Marina. Marina is particularly fascinated with the creatures of the world and, as such, would often ask her mother to make up stories that have some tangible reference to real creatures, predominately with the story emanating from Katia’s homeland of Brazil. One night, just before taking her daughter to bed and after telling her the story about “the grumpy monkey and the princess,” Marina asked Katia to write the story down so she would read it to her and her friends. So she did, and here it is now published. We are sharing it with all of you, so I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
