Overview

A man lived in a small house out in the country with very few belongings. He was not a rich man, but he thought life was perfect, as it was. Friends came to visit his small house, and, no matter the weather, the houseand the manwere quite accommodating, as the house was a place of love and comfort. Eventually, a town grew up around the house. The man made more friends. Then, a city grew up around the house. The man made even more friends, and they all still came to visit the happy, little house, filled with peace and joy. When the house got old (and the man, too), friends came to keep the house content. Even as an old man, the man was not rich. His house grew no bigger. Yet, friends continued to visit. Gatherings were many, and the man soon realized: he didnt need fame or fortune to be happy. Instead, he needed friends. We could all take a hint. Life isnt about what we own; its about the people we love and the friends we make.

CHAPTER 1

There was a man who lived in the country in a tiny house. The house was as it was, because the man said he didn't need anything more.

On days when the air was chilly, the man settled into his tiny house and his friends came. They came to visit because the house, as it was, was warm.

On days when the air was hot, the man relaxed on his porch and his friends came. They came to visit because the porch, as it was, was cool.

One day the tiny house, as it was, was no longer in the country. The country became a town and the man had many new friends. His new friends lived in the new houses that surrounded the tiny house.

On days when the air was cold, the man cherished his house and the company of his friends. His friends came to visit because the house, as it was, was warm.
