The Keriot is a new look at Judas. He reveals himself in his own words as neither villain nor victim.
Who was Judas? Spawn of the devil, bent on evil? Stooge, duped into actions whose consequences he could not have seen? Or ordinary human chasing one dream and discovering another, reaching for both? Judas tells his own story; his meeting with Jesus, his discipleship, his missionary journey with Simon the Zealot, and the events that led to his downfall.

Judas, 'the Keriot,' tells us the story of Jesus' ministry through his eyes in this spellbinding novel. While it is primarily intended to be an inside look at Judas and the motivation for his actions, not only he; but Christ and His disciples become very real, three dimensional people, who are living often dangerous and exciting lives. Preliminary to the writing of the book, Anne Austin devoted three years to extensive research regarding the plants, animals and landscape of the Holy Land. She also studied the customs of the various groups living there during that period. The book is, indeed, primarily a well-crafted and memorable novel, but it is also an accurate description of the geographic setting for this important series of events in the history of the world. When possible, it also reverently incorporates Biblical passages. The story rivets the reader and when it is completed, continues to be thought provoking and a springboard for discussion.
