Overview

Two months ago, fifteen-year old solutioner, Chris Kringle's, world was shattered by tragedy. Forced to face the land Zi without his protector, Chris is caught up in the mystery of Winterdale Palace and the coming devastation that rocks Zi, every thirteen years with Winterdale's arrival. As a societal breakdown hurtles Zi toward annihilation, the evil Larkin Voss threatens to bring Winterdale Palace crumbling to the icy ground.

Chris and his four outcast friends never would have imagined that to save Winterdale from Voss, they'd have to chase into an ice cavern crawling with slobbering abominable snowmen, steal the most sacred artifact from the local museum, venture into the grimiest, most dangerous spot in Zi to locate an ancient merwitch, or create a magic potion that evokes dark visions of the future.

But all of that is certainly better than discovering their chilling quest will expose a hidden war that has waged since the beginning of time and could forever destroy hot chocolate, Kamikaze candy machines, lightning-quick toboggans, and basically the entire universe!

About the Author

Jason Roer found himself by luck or fate in the prestigious Toy Design program at FIT in New York City, where he decided it was simply better to remain a child and play with stuff. After graduation, Jason found a job with an eccentric businessman designing everything from cartoon characters to filming live events. It was under the auspices of this enigmatic man, that Jason recognized his true calling as a storyteller.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is Jason's favorite book as far back as he can remember. It was this book that led Jason on most of his early creative exploits, and he can even remember writing a short story inspired by the insane lunacy of the Hitchhiker's Guide while staying at his grandmother's apartment many years ago. To this day, that story remains unpublished, and rightly so, however it was this story that made him want to write a story that could in fact be published.

Jason has now written and directed four short films and written a few feature screenplays. His latest short, Faceless, played at many festivals around the world, winning awards including Most Disturbing Film at the International Horror and SciFi Film Festival sponsored by Lionsgate Films. He is presently producing Book Trailers with his production company Cohorts and Conspirators while working on the final revision of his second novel, NannySpies, a MG Scifi/Fantasy.

All this, and he still has time to break his hand and ribs snowboarding and love up his amazing 7-year old son, Jaden!
