The Lamp Lighter II is an extension of Reverend George D. Johnson's first volume. The first volume was full of rich Homilies, quotes, quips, aphorisms, witticism, anecdotes, and truisms. This second volume provides us with the light of God's words. God's word is light for our souls. Jesus said, ". . . Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God" (Matthew, 4:4). Therefore, God's Word is not only spirit food for us, but is light. And light and darkness cannot co-exist, for one will cancel the other. When men and women embrace light, there is no room for darkness. But when they embrace darkness, it is because their deeds are evil. Finally, when evil prevails, it engulfs the very essence of individuals' soul, enslaving them, but light liberates.
