Plain-Jane computer programmer Khloe Richardson needs a date—one to make the man of her dreams jealous. Maybe then he'll finally see her as a desirable woman and not the awkward girl in the second office from the left. But when she bids on a bachelor at a charity auction, the man she wins is millionaire Niall Hunter, who once made intense, passionate love to her and then left without a word. He's the last man she wants to spend time with, but he's also her only option.

Niall never imagined his penance for one hot-as-hell night with his best friend’s little sister would be transforming her from a shy wallflower to a sultry siren. Helping her attract another man is torture...especially when he promised his friend he’d stay away. Plus, she wants forever, and he's not a forever kind of guy. But Niall can't stop wanting her. Can't stop touching her. Can't stop, period. And damn if he can remember why he has to...

Three years later

"Remind me again why I agreed to this asinine idea?"

Khloe Richardson paused in the entrance of the cavernous ballroom that glittered from the crystal chandelier to the bejeweled guests. She clutched her purse to her stomach as if the ridiculously small and sparkling bag could calm the nerves playing kickball with her intestines. God, she felt like such a fraud. She belonged in a small, messy office filled with computers, modems, and technical manuals. Not in this brilliantly lit room where the formally attired men and women of Boston's social elite congregated and socialized.

Beside her, Morgan Lett — her best friend, co-worker, and enabler — plucked a fluted glass off a passing tray. She sipped with an appreciative hum. "Oh my God, this is better than sex," she purred. Then, arching a perfectly waxed, blonde eyebrow, she said, "And the answer to your question is we're here so you can avoid spinsterhood like it's a cubic zirconia."

Actually, there were some pretty nice fake diamonds out there, but since Morgan probably wouldn't appreciate the observation, Khloe instead murmured, "Oh yeah, that's right."

Still, attending the Rhodonite Society's annual Masquerade Bachelor Auction just smacked of ... meets flesh peddling.

And desperation. Couldn't forget desperation.

This scheme of Morgan's to find Khloe a date at a bachelor auction, of all places, reeked of impulsiveness, lunacy, and a whole lot of Hail Mary. The exact antithesis of Khloe's usual predictability, sanity, and OCD-ish need to plan, chart, and graph. But love did that to a person. It stripped away common sense, persuaded a woman who reveled in algorithms and code to buy a formal gown, death-defying heels, and take part in this ... spectacle. More specifically, love for Bennett Charles — brilliant, successful, handsome, sophisticated, and chief operating officer of System Solutions Unlimited, the firm she and Morgan worked for.

An image of the company's executive unfurled in her mind's eyes. She'd been adoring him from afar for the past six months. But other than the occasional conversation before a staff meeting or a friendly but slightly vacant smile, Bennett didn't seem to notice she existed. And if not for a terrifying car accident a month ago that she'd miraculously managed to walk away from with little more than scrapes and bruises, she might have been content with moseying along, quietly crushing on him. Her older brother, Michael, had died in a car accident three years earlier. Her brush with death and knowledge that tomorrow wasn't guaranteed had jolted her awake from a catatonic, emotional slumber. Not one more second would she sit on the proverbial shelf, a spectator in life and gathering enough dust to create a sandstorm.

Trouble was, she didn't have a great résumé where men were concerned.

One had stolen a project idea from her, received a promotion as a result of her hard work then took off for a new European office, breaking up with her via a PM on Facebook.

The other? Well, the other had stolen her virginity and broken her heart ...

Anyway, Bennett — with his genteel, warm manner, brilliance, and kindness — was her chance at a life filled with affection, companionship, and stability.

All she had to do was get him to realize how perfect they could be for one another. And buying a date at this auction and taking him to her company's annual gala so Bennet would realize that someone — a handsome, wealthy someone — wanted her would be the perfect wake-up call. Well, according to Morgan, it would be. Honestly, Khloe had her doubts this crazy plan would work. But, here she was, going along with it. Desperate times, desperate measures 'n' all that.

"Here." Morgan liberated another glass of wine from a passing waiter and pressed the flute into Khloe's hand. "Drink this. It'll help you look more let-the-festivities-begin and less headed-to-a-dinner-date-with-Hannibal-Lecter."

Khloe lifted the drink, carefully stepping on the ballroom's gleaming ebony and marble inlaid tiles, not trusting her newly purchased heels on the slick floor.

"Maybe I look that that way because — damn it," she grumbled, quickly steadying herself after her heel skidded, and she lisped to the side. "Because it's exactly how I'm feeling. When I mentioned hiring a date for the gala, I was joking." Sort of. "But I definitely didn't mean ..." She waved a hand in the direction of the brightly lit stage. "This."

Morgan looped an arm through hers and guided her through the throngs of people. "First, we're buying, not hiring. Big difference." She smiled and murmured a "hello" to an older woman with so many diamonds around her neck — very likely not cubic zirconia — Khloe was certain there was an insurance adjustor somewhere praying as he white-knuckled a policy on those gems. "And while this might seem extreme, desperate times call for desperate measures. And sweetie," she patted Khloe's hand, "I love you, but you're desperate."

An immediate objection leaped to Khloe's tongue, but after a moment, she swallowed it. What could she say? Morgan was right. Hadn't she just thought the same thing? Still, attending a bachelor's auction to lease a hopefully hot date poked too close at a wound that remained sore to this day. Morgan, who had probably been born with her expertly streaked blonde hair, perfectly straight teeth, and gorgeous body, wouldn't know anything about begging her brother to take her to the prom so she wouldn't end up with the monosyllabic, arachnid-obsessed son of her parents' fellow professor at Cambridge College.

Khloe slid a glance at her beautiful best friend and tried not to feel like Quasimodo in a dress. Not that she was a hunch-backed, warty recluse, but next to her friend's regal, cool loveliness, Khloe had to fight the urge to change her career path to include bell ringing.

Middle class to Morgan's wealthy Boston Brahmin roots, quiet where Morgan was outspoken, unassuming to Morgan's boldness, and duckling to Morgan's swan, she and Morgan should have been the unlikeliest of friends. But underneath the stylish clothes, ennui, and dry, sometimes cutting wit existed a woman with a heart of gold. Dented maybe, but still gold. And if Khloe suspected a little bit of pity dwelled beneath her friend's insistence on taking her beneath her perfectly coiffed wing, well ... she tried to ignore it.

"No need to rub my woeful lack of options in," Khloe grumbled. "How much do people bid at these things anyway? All I have to spend is my vacation money. Three thousand dollars. That's my limit." Just the thought of squandering away her hard-earned and saved fund on a single date twisted her stomach into knots a nautical engineer would've been hopeless to untangle.

"Don't worry about the cost. Since the auction was my idea, it's my treat." Morgan waved off Khloe's concern and avoided directly answering the question. Which caused another vicious wrench in her belly. "Let's go grab our table down front. The festivities are about to begin."

Smothering a groan, Khloe followed her friend to a round table surrounded by six chairs. A "Reserved" placard with "Lett" printed underneath identified the setting as theirs ... or rather, Morgan's. She pulled a chair out and gingerly lowered to the seat.

"You're still looking worried," Morgan admonished, leaning back from the table, dark eyes gleaming. "Get into the spirit of it. The mystique of not knowing who you're bidding on? It's exciting, if you'll allow it to be. Just think. You could end up with a gorgeous Joe Manganiello or a debonair Cary Grant."

"I hope not, since Cary's dead," Khloe mumbled, lifting her glass of champagne for a quick sip to wet her parched throat.

Morgan snorted. "Good point, Khloe," she murmured, covering Khloe's claw-like clench on her purse with her own hand. "I know this is out of your comfort zone." Now there was the understatement of the, oh, millennia. "But you have to stay focused on your end game. What better way to guarantee landing a hot man, shocking the hell out of everyone at that party, and finally getting Bennett Charles to notice you as more than the nerd in the second office from the left?"

Ouch. The truth didn't just hurt, it threw a freaking haymaker like the playground bully, then waved na-na-na-na-boo-boo.

"Bennett just needs to see you as a desirable woman," Morgan continued. "Then he'll realize his perfect mate was right under his nose all along. And the number one thing a man finds desirable about a woman? Another man wanting her."

Morgan emphasized her statement with a decisive nod. And her conviction almost convinced Khloe. Her friend should know, since her beautiful taste in style and men were often commented on in the society pages. Still ... Khloe gulped down more wine and battled the nerves, the doubts.

"The auction's starting." Morgan claimed the ivory paddle with the number 82 emblazoned across the front before facing the stage dominating the end of the room. The lights in the room dimmed, the large spotlight on the platform the main source of illumination.

"I do get a say in who you bid on, right?" Khloe whispered.

"Of course," Morgan assured her, gaze fixated on the stage.

Music that sounded as if it'd been pirated from Dancing with the Stars rolled through the ballroom. The spotlight widened and contracted before stretching to include the entire platform. A woman with a slit in her dress so high, she risked exposing her Victoria's Secrets with each step, emerged from backstage and sashayed out, waving to the crowd with a big smile.

Oh boy. Khloe fought not to roll her eyes.

"Welcome to the Rhodonite Society's eleventh annual Masquerade Bachelor Auction," she announced. "And a wonderful night filled with luxurious dates, fun, and ten of Boston's most handsome, eligible bachelors. Every penny of the proceeds will benefit the Blake Literacy Foundation, which raises awareness of illiteracy as well as provide programming, tutoring, and technology to Boston's underprivileged youth."

The room filled with applause and chatter. Khloe refrained from rolling her eyes. Who would've guessed literacy caused so much excitement?

"So, let's bring on the bachelors!" the woman proclaimed, and within moments, a tuxedo-clad man strolled onto the stage. Shoulders straight, head tilted at a cocky angle, he paused in the center of the platform, his self-assuredness as evident as the tailored cut of his black formal clothing. Even the white mask concealing his face couldn't hide his confidence.

"Our first bachelor may be a transplant from the West Coast, but he proudly calls Boston home. In the ten years he's lived here, he's become a bleeding heart liberal, is a rabid Patriots and Sox fan, and understands that war — and driving — are hell." Laughter erupted in the room, and Khloe grinned at the stereotypes that many associated with native Bostonians. "A busy investment banker, he's been accused of being married to his job, but he would one day love to divorce the fifteen-hour work days to fall in love with a woman of humor, wit, and a philanthropic heart. The woman lucky enough to win him for the evening will travel west with him to enjoy a charming weekend getaway in gorgeous, picturesque Aspen, Colorado. Three days of skiing, romantic sleigh rides, fine dining, and wine before crackling fireplaces. And of course, shopping." Their female emcee — whom Khloe had named Peek-a-boo — smiled at the ripple of animated murmurs and continued reading off her card. "This sounds absolutely dreamy, doesn't it? Let's open the bidding at $5,000." Someone in the audience immediately responded, and Peek-a-boo nodded in acknowledgement. "We have $5,000? What about $6,000? Six. Seven?"

Morgan lifted her paddle at seven thousand, and Khloe's chest seized in horror.

"Seven thousand dollars?" she hissed, latching onto her friend's arm when she went to hike her arm again. "Are you crazy? I can't let you spend that much money on a date! Who does that?"

Morgan shot her an exasperated look, but Khloe shook her head, adamant. Heaving a loud sigh, her friend lowered the paddle.

After a round of whirlwind bidding, the first bachelor went for $14,000. Good God. She'd allotted three thousand for this fool's errand. No wonder Morgan had waved off her financial limit. Hell, the bidding didn't even start at her limit.

She might be going home bachelor-less after all.

The evening progressed, bachelor after bachelor striding out onto the stage and standing stoically as women waged war over them with paddles, money, and looks at rivals that promised painful retribution. Morgan jumped in on bachelor number four whose favorite movie was Mildred Pierce — how could he not be awesome? — and number six, whose idea of a romantic getaway was days holed up in his home on the Cape, talking, sleeping, and making love to his special woman. Wow. The heat level had ratcheted several degrees with that tidbit. But for each man, the price had risen well over ten thousand dollars, and she couldn't justify allowing Morgan to spend the money for her. Morgan's sighs had segued into mutterings and growls of impatience.

Soon, Peek-a-boo announced the last bachelor of the evening. Khloe's heart thudded against her chest, sweat dampened her palms. This man was her last hope. Either she won him, or she'd go home alone with no chance in hell of finding a date for her company's gala, which loomed six short days away. At five feet, five inches tall, with dark brown hair she kept bound in a ponytail or a knot at the back of her head on more formal occasions — like tonight — and a body that carried ten more pounds then was fashionable in her breasts, hips, and ass, she was more Paula Deen than Paula Patton. She didn't inspire lustful fantasies.

Which was why she needed to buy a man who pretended to have them.

"And our final bachelor of the night."

A man appeared from the left wing. Unlike the other men, he didn't saunter or swagger. He stalked — with purpose, with intent ... with might. Each long-legged stride ate up the distance to the middle of the stage. Her breath stuttered in her throat.

Oh. My.

He wasn't the biggest man to grace the platform tonight — that honor belonged to Mildred Pierce-loving bachelor number three — but his tall, lean frame fairly hummed with power and a grace reserved for hunters and predators on four legs. Unlike the other men, he didn't wear a tuxedo. But his flawlessly cut black jacket and pants coupled with an equally dark shirt emphasized his ... stunning masculinity. And sexuality. She blinked. O-kay. Where had that thought come from?

"Though bachelor number ten has offices on both sides of the Atlantic, he claims Boston as his hometown. A man of culture, he enjoys a night at the opera as much as an evening in the local pub. His favorite musicians include Luciano Pavarotti, The Dubliners, and U2, and in his estimation, no movie tops The Godfather. The woman who eventually wins his heart will possess interests as varied as his own, will be adventurous, and well-traveled."

Well, that left Khloe out. Most of her life revolved around her job, her idea of adventure was online gaming, and she'd been to Dublin, Ireland exactly once. And the less said about that trip, the better.

"The fortunate woman to win him for her date will spend two days and a night in glamorous New York City where she will enjoy romantic dinners for two at five-star restaurants, a Broadway play, a concert, museums, and a personal appointment at Harry Winston's Fifth Avenue location." A wave of low voices rose and ebbed at the mention of the famous New York jeweler. Peek-a-boo's smile widened as if she could sense the money this date would rake in. "We'll open the bidding at five thousand."

Well, the fact that I am a sucker for Millionaire/Billionaire stories still holds true. This one was another hit for me. Naima Simone did a great job with putting her own twist on this type of story. Nialli wakes up after being drunk one night to find out that he has taken his best friend's sister's virginity. Not only is that bad, but his best friend was recently killed and Nialli is supposed to be the one to look out for Khloe and not take advantage of her. Nialli leaves Khloe without an explanation and goes years with out talking to her. When they have a chance meeting years later, Khloe wants nothing to do with him after the way he left her high and dry. Khloe and her friend go to a Bachelor auction and her friend is determined to get her a date for the ball her work is throwing at Christmas no matter what. When they see who is behind the mask, Khloe does a double take and turns away. Never in a million years did she think it would be Nialli. So, when Khloe declines the date, her friend does the unthinkable. She calls Nialli and asks for a favor. She wants Nialli to go on a date with Khloe and make the guy that is sort of interested in her from work jealous and hopefully make him open his eyes. When Nialli gets to Khloe's house, he orders her a makeover and Khloe has never looked better. So, will Khloe turn the head of her coworker and cause him to want her even more, or will Nialli wake up and realize what he had in front of him years ago? This is a great read that you will be so glad you took the time to read. I love stories like this! Thanks for a great read Naima Simone!!

This is a superb, emotively written story that had me crying happy tears in the end! Khloe’s brother Michael had been killed in a tragic car accident, leaving his family and his best friend, Niall, devastated at losing him. Michael, however is there in the background throughout the story. This is a story that needs reading. It is so fantastically written, filled with emotional turmoil as the characters come to terms with themselves, their dreams and relationships. It is a tumultuous journey that readers will find easy to empathise with because of the brilliantly portrayed scenarios and emotional turmoil. It is a wonderful read from the start to the very happy yet poignant ending! It has robust, well developed characters, a turbulent plot and some heartbreaking moments without ever being over-sentimental or soppy. It is a very touching, romantic story, with the quiet, shy, nerd being shown the beautiful woman she really is and the hero helping her to do so and, in the process, finding the walls around his heart tumbling down. There are some other amazing secondary characters in the story who merit mentioning – especially Khloe’s best friend and the glam squad, but you need to read it yourself to learn more about them, too. I have no hesitation at highly recommending this very moving romance! Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.

This second story in the Bachelor Auction series (easily read as a standalone ) is a sexy 'best friend's little sister' trope romance. Niall blames himself for his best friend Michael's death, and though in a grief filled haze he turned to Michael's younger sister Khloe to forget, he's never forgiven himself for their one night of passion in which she gave him her trust (and her virginity). Wracked with guilt, he cut off all contact, leaving Khloe alone and grieving not only her brother but the loss of her friendship with Niall too. Three years later, he's one of the bachelors at a charity auction and unwittingly is 'purchased' by Khloe's friend Morgan, his mask concealing his identity until the deed is done and Khloe finds herself face to face with the man who broke her heart. Determined to fix her mistake, Morgan insists that Niall step up to the bargain and be Khloe's plus one for a work function, one at which she's hoping to catch the eye of Bennett, the sexy and handsome CEO of her company. But Niall discovers that pretending to be Khloe's partner only inspires his own jealousy as he must come to grips with the realization that he wants Khloe now more than ever. And when she undergoes a makeover to boost her self confidence, he knows that any man worthy of her should have been able to see her beauty and spirit no matter the outward trappings. Will Niall let this opportunity of a second chance with Khloe go to waste? This story had a fair bit of angst in it, as Niall has the emotional baggage of a poor relationship with his father, combined with the death of his best friend and alienation of their family. He's stayed clear of Khloe for three years, and would have continued staying away if not for the bachelor auction that sees him back in her life once again. He felt that staying away was the best way to honor his friend whose wish was to have Khloe meet and marry a man worthy of her (and he definitely doesn't see himself in that role). But now she's trying to get the attention of Bennett at work, and helping her show off her beauty in a more physical manner (by outfitting her with new clothes to show off her curvy figure instead of letting her hide her delectable attributes in baggy clothing) only serves to remind him of their one passionate night together, a night he should regret but can't forget. As a result of their spending time together, he sends her mixed signals, expressing his desire for her that leads to some steamy scenes between them, then pulling back and trying to distance himself from her. But he soon comes to realize that he's making a big mistake and has to prove to Khloe that he's worthy of her trust and her love. I really liked Khloe's character, as she may have moments of weakness where Niall is concerned due to her intense desire for him, but at the same time realizes that it's not up to her to convince him to give them a chance. He needs to get over his issues if they are to end up happily together. Khloe is a smart and intelligent woman, with some self esteem problems due to her figure, but when she changes her hair and makeup and dresses in clothing that suits her, she comes to realize how physically attractive she really is, mirroring her inner beauty. I loved seeing that transformation that brought with it her new sense of self confidence. With a combination of emotional moments and super sexy scenes, this was an entertaining and enjoyable romance. 4 stars.

She figures the best way to get his attention is to win the attention of another man, and once he sees how desirable she is to this other man, then maybe he will finally take notice and claim her for his own. Now she just has to find the right man for the job... Niall Hunter has found himself roped into a Bachelor Charity Auction, and the idea that he is going to be expected to provide the winner with a date is a little unsettling to him, but he figures he can handle one night right? But once he realizes the woman bidding for his attention is his best friends little sister, the same woman he shared a heated night with long ago, has him regretting his decision to do his good deed for the community. But now that she wants to use him to gain the attention of another man, he is not so sure he can follow through with his promise, being near her again is harder than he thought and the idea of another man having her is almost more than he can bare... This was my first experience with Ms. Simone's work, and I have to say that it turned out to be a pretty impressive first read for me. The story line pulled me almost immediately and had me flying right through the pages... and staying up well past my bedtime just to see if Khloe would get her prince!! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this story and definitely plan to read more of her books in the very near future!! Highly recommend this one, it is sure to leave you with a happy heart and a smile on your face!! The Millionaire Makeover by Naima Simone is a savvy title to a novel that kept me entertained from beginning to end. This book draws you in immediately, and the engaging story continuously enthralls with each and every moment. The two primary characters, computer programmer Khloe Richardson, and millionaire CEO Niall Hunter, have lustful chemistry, and their relationship is replete with a sad past, guilt, desire, and love. This is the second book I have read by Ms. Simone and as a result, she is now on my "must read" author list. Khloe is a smart woman that prefers to remain in the background. Because she does not believe she is attractive, she dresses in frumpy clothes, wears very little make-up and almost never socializes. Khloe loves her job, but she also wants a husband and family. She needs a hot date for her company's ball, in order to make the man of her dreams jealous. Who would have thought that Niall would come to her rescue, albeit begrudgingly. Khloe and Niall share a past, which includes a childhood crush, a scorching night of passion, and the tragic death of Khloe's older brother Michael, who was also Niall's best friend. Niall is a gorgeous man that runs Dublin's most successful recording label. He is also an accomplished musician. Being with Khloe once again is combination of both bliss and torture. But because he promised Michael he would ensure Khloe's happiness, he is in Boston to be her date. In pursuit of Khloe's happiness, he takes creative liberties and hires a team of stylists to make Khloe over. The new and improved Khloe is beautiful and confident, which is creating even more chaos in Niall's heart and mind. This is a hot and heartwarming love story that will cause all your senses to remain on high alert. Khloe and Niall are a unique couple, and I was constantly cheering for them to end up together. Their vulnerabilities and uneasiness pierced my heart, as they unfolded the past and discovered the possibility of a future together. Niall is an alpha male, which made every kiss and caress entrancingly sexy. If you enjoy the older brother's best friend romance trope with a bit of Cinderella in the mix, then this well-written book is for you. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I really loved this one! Niall is such a tortured soul. He and Khloe had one passionate night but his guilt and grief got the best of him and he disappeared. That was three years ago. Now he finds himself as her date after her friend "wins" him in a charity bachelor auction. No way can he ever let her know how much that night affected him or that she was the only woman who had ever touched his heart. Khloe can't believe her luck when she realizes who it is her friend just spent all her money on. The last person she wants to spend an evening with is Niall Hunter. Their chemistry rocks the pages and you know they won't be able to stay away from each other. It was great fun reading how Khloe transformed into the beautiful woman that was always hiding inside her. And I adored the glam squad who helped her. They were hilarious. This is definitely a book I recommend!

The Millionaire Makeover by Naima Simone is an adorable best friends little sister romance. Who can resist a wealthy Henry Cavill double with an Irish accent? Certainly not computer programmer Khloe Richardson. But Niall has issues and it is going to take time, patience, smoking hot sex and a push from Khloe’s bff to get these two to realize that they are perfect for each other. This is a fun, well written story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Great read, great ending Khloe decides to bet on a bachelor at an auction and use that bachelor make Khloe's boss Bennett jealous, who Khloe feels she could have a family and life with. Little does Khloe realize that the bachelor she bids on just happens to be her brothers best friend who she had a one night stand with, will they be able to work with each other, or can their feelings get in the way. This was a absolutely wonderful read, and the ending was totally worth the whole read.

Khloe Richardson is silently pining for her boss, Bennett Charles, who barely acknowledges her existence. Her best friend Morgan has an idea: why not get Khloe a date for the upcoming company gala to try and grab Bennett’s attention and make him notice Khloe for the sexy person she is. Well, that she could be if she didn’t look like the programmer nerd she is. So they’re off to a bachelor’s auction, and Morgan will not leave without Khloe having a date, and she finally snatches the last bachelor available. Unfortunately it could not have been worse: he is none other than Irish hottie Niall Hunter, who was Khloe’s brother Michael’s best friend. Michael died three years ago, and in a drunken and grief fuelled stupor, Niall and Khloe had sex, he took her virginity, and he nearly threw her out of his house the morning after. Niall feels guilty to have betrayed his best friend’s trust in more ways than one, even though he cannot get Khloe from his thoughts. She’s loved him for as the moment she knew what love was, but she is bitterly angry, and understandably so. And their road to romance is a very, very difficult one, the conflicts and misunderstandings very well conveyed by Ms. Simone. THE MILLIONAIRE MAKEOVER is a quick read, fast-paced, written in a crisp, contemporary and fresh style. I loved the dialogues, which sounded totally genuine, especially between Morgan and Khloe. I’m not quite sure if I was supposed to like Morgan as much as I did, but I loved her! The MILLIONAIRE MAKEOVER is a fun, quick read, with a lovely Irish accent! Well done, Ms. Simone! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

LOVED this book! This is a quick read that is a part of the Bachelor Auction series - and who wouldn't love a series with a bachelor auction in it? In it, Khloe's friend bids on a bachelor for her to have an escort for a company function. However, the bachelors are masked and Khloe doesn't know who her bachelor is until his mask comes off.... He is a man from her past and she walks away, but this time he follows her. What follows is a fun and thoroughly entertaining novel with just enough angst to make it feel real. I was turning pages just as quickly as possible. Put this one at the top of your TBR list, you'll be glad you did. While this is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel.

"The Millionaire Makeover" by Naima Simone is book two in the "Bachelor Auction" series. This is Khloe Richardson and Niall Hunter's story. Niall had promised Khloe's brother before he died that he would not hurt Khloe. Niall and Khloe had one passionate night together. He left Khloe without a word because he had failed to protect her and the only way to keep from causing her harm was to leave her. Khloe never got over that night. Khloe decides to make some changes in her life. She wants to make this guy at work jealous. Her plan is to get a date to help her make him jealous. Khloe and her friend go to a charity auction where she bids on a bachelor. Well, the bachelor Khloe ends up with is Niall. Will Niall and Khloe be able put their past behind them? Will they take a chance on love or will Niall just help Khloe to not hide her beauty? I have mixed feelings on this book. You have two people that are experiencing a lot of emotional stress in their lives. They really need each other. The reader can feel their range of emotions from happy, sad, to passion. On the other side the language and a good portion of the intimate scenes just took away from the romance. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Entangled Publishing for an honest review. FYI, contains mature content.

These two together are absolutely fantastic! I love the fact that there is something about Khloe that no one else really sees (not even herself), but that Niall does. He’s got such an artistic soul that he’s buried under a hard veneer but with her it is hard to keep up the act. I feel bad that he feels like he has to hide it because of the way his dad treated him, but it is so sweet the way that Khloe understand and supports him. My only complaint is that we spend a lot of the book getting the two back together again that I feel like Niall’s acceptance of himself is a just a tad rushed. He’s spent so long feeling unloved & unworthy, and fought so hard to stay away from Khloe, that I would have liked to have a little more time for his introspection and realization that he really is the good man that both Khloe and Michael know he is. It is there, I just wish it was a tiny bit more involved (probably nitpicking here :) ). Niall does quite a few dummy moves, thanks to his issues, but he mans up like a champ – what a great ending! Amazingly sweet and a little teary for what they both lost and found together. (Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review)

When Khloe’s brother died in a car accident his best friend Niall and she spent the night together, the morning after, Niall regrets what happened and decides to stay away from Khloe. Now she is trying to make someone jealous and bids on a bachelor at a charity auction and happens to when Niall. He promised Khloe’s brother that he would keep his hands off of her but is the temptation to strong? The story is fun and sexy. Niall can be a bit annoying at times but I loved the chemistry between these two. Great Read!

Oh man, I flew through this book! It was so entertaining, I truly couldn’t stop reading, the characters were so relatable, there were funny, romantic and dramatic moments and I enjoyed every single one of them. Khloe is your regular employee with a huge crush on he boss, the problem is that her boss has never notice her, other than the ‘Good Morning’ salute everyday, so she has a plan. She is going to get a fake boyfriend someone who can help her make her boss see her as desirable. Through a series of funny coincidences her fake boyfriend turns out to be Niall, her brothers best friend who slept with her some years before and then never contacted her! I really liked Khloe, I like that she wasn’t your typical beauty, she was curvy and she was perfect and I also liked the fact that Niall saw her before all the makeover happened, that really helped me like him more and also respect her a little more. The story is very fast paced, it grabs your attention immediately, I just wanted to keep reading about this two people who were obviously in love with one another but each had their own reasons to pull away. At the end of the book there’s a bit about Khloe’s brother that had me tearing up a little bit and it was actually the best way to end the book. I liked this books and this author’s writing so much that I went directly to Goodreads to stalk her, and there’s actually another book in this series! And it sounds so good!

: 3.75 stars---THE MILLIONAIRE MAKE OVER is the second installment in Naima Simone’s contemporary, adult BACHELOR AUCTION romance series. This is computer programmer Khloe Richardson, and millionaire businessman Niall Hunter’s story line. Told from dual third person perspectives (Khloe and Niall) THE MILLIONAIRE MAKEOVER is a retelling of The Ugly Duckling fairy tale wherein the ugly little duckling turns into a beautiful white swan. Khloe believes herself to be the ‘ plain Jane’; the ‘ugly duckling’ who hides behind baggy clothes and dark colors. Three years earlier, following the death of her brother Michael, Khloe ventured to Ireland to catch up with her brother’s best friend Niall Hunter. One night of hot sex, and every fantasy she ever had about Niall Hunter, Khloe found herself pushed away and sent back home without a good bye or thank you from the man she had loved since she was a little girl. Fast forward three years, and Niall is the mystery date her best friend Ashley bought at the local bachelor auction. What ensues is Khloe’s transformation, and Niall’s desperate attempts to keep away from his best friend’s sister. The relationship between Niall and Khloe begins as friends to lovers to enemies to friends back to lovers scenario as Niall helps Khloe grow into the beautiful woman she was meant to be. Khloe is hoping to attract her boss’s attention but she attracts the attention of the man she has loved since she was a little girl. The $ex scenes are provocative and seductive-Niall is a man who has never forgotten about their one-night stand three years earlier. The world building focuses on family, friendship, live, death, romance and love. Niall is a man engulfed by the grief of his best friend’s death, and the knowledge that he will never be good enough for the woman that he loves. THE MILLIONAIRE MAKEOVER is a quick read; an engaging and enjoyable read. The premise is emotional and energetic; the characters are colorful and passionate; the happily ever after is the stuff of fairy tales and romantic endings.

Sweet and Lovely Millionaire Romance Read Cute Millionaire Romance story about a girl who is in love with her brother’s best friend. Niall is this man who has some serious guilt over how his best friend, Michael died. Khloe is Michael’s little sister and she has always had this crush on Niall. After Khloe's brother dies, the two seek comfort in each other’s arms one night but after that night, Niall treats Khloe really bad and wont let her back into his life. After that night it was 3 years before they ended up back in each other’s life. There was the usual back and forth but for once it was on the man’s side and some twists and turns before there was a good ending and a lovely HEA. If I had any complaints, it was how Niall was indecisive with Khloe. I understood how she ended up giving herself a makeover for him to prove that she could change for him but why change for the man when if he loves you for you, he should accept you for who you are- the back and forth of his wanting her and then not wanting her was a bit much. Other than that, it was a great story and good flow. My rating: 4.3 stars **** *A gifted copy was provided the publisher for my honest review*

There are some types of stories that offer a tried and true storyline I just love to read and review. Easy flowing, a delight to read, entertaining with characters you enjoy getting to know. This one is exactly that. The Millionaire Makeover was a fun book to read. I love the whole concept of a best friend's little sister, fall in love, steamy hot storyline. This one also included of fun bachelor auction. How can you go wrong with a story like that? The author did a great job creating Niall and his mixed up feelings about his plain- Jane computer programmer Khloe - his best friend's sister. I love the fun storyline that the author created along with her wonderful writing talent. Her descriptions and feelings came across between these two are heated and addicting! A guess I'm a sucker for a millionaire, billionaire type stories because I just love them and this one is one not to be missed. It is sooo good!
