About the Author

I, Stella Jean Christian Herron am a native of Tippo, Mississippi. I have lived in the city of Grenada, Mississippi for the past 33 ½ years. I'm the eighth child of eleven born to Ben and Carrie Christian, (both deceased) on March 2, 1956. I have five brothers and two sisters. Two of my sisters are deceased. I graduated from Charleston High School, Charleston, Mississippi, in 1975. After graduating from high school, I attended Mississippi Valley State University where in 1979, I received my BS degree in Elementary Education; an MS in Elementary Education in 1985 from the Valley; completed further studies at Delta State University of Cleveland, MS (1992); earned six hours toward my Ph. D in Elementary Education at ole Miss at Oxford, MS; and, earned my Ph. D from LaSalle University, Mandeville, LA in 2000. My love for children attributed to my career choice in Elementary Education. My experience in the educational field includes, but is not limited to, teaching 6th grade Social Studies (including Handwriting and Spelling) and P. E. to special needs students for 2 years; Title/Chapter I Reading to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders for 11 years; 6th, 7th and 8th grades in the Grenada Alternative School (all academic subjects) for 13 years; and, GED Mathematics for one year. I was forced to retire due to a disability. Presently, I work with young people at church writing skits, poems and parts for special occasions for people who request my help. I have always had a love for writing and always had a secret desire to be a published author. I hope to create many other stories, plays (skits) and poems in the near future.
