Mother Ducks dream was to have a family. She took the greatest pleasure in caring for them and teaching them. Her children are her whole life. She is very particular that her children follow behind her, beak to tail, so that she can ensure their safety to the pond and back. Mother Duck is so happy with her new family! Very soon Mother Duck realizes that her children are growing up and wanting to expand the horizon she has carefully created for them. With her heart breaking, she says good-bye to her children as one by one they fly off to find their dreams in this great big world.

Ihave written The Nest to help anyone who has to say goodbye to someone they have raised. It is a time of excitement, sadness, fear, and loneliness. It is also one of life’s necessary transitions. Hopefully my readers will experience the satisfaction and joy of watching their loved one find their place in the world. I currently live in Danville, Illinois with my 2 dogs Zara and Max. My children are grown and finding their own way in this great big world. There is no greater pleasure than holding a child who has come back for a visit. I am a retired teacher of 35 years and now teach online.
