The Next Adventure
Grayson Jericho is an adventuring man of the world who can't imagine being tied down to one place...until his friend Ella Dale suddenly becomes available. Now he just has to convince her that he's more than ready for his next adventure…which includes her as the destination.
Excerpt:
Grayson let himself in but stopped short when he heard the television. There was no light other than what was being illuminated from the flat screen so he waited a moment for his eyes to adjust. There was no way that Quinn would let Ella drive his precious car so he deduced it had to be Ella in there. Quinn was probably out having a ‘boy’s night’ which Grayson knew translated to ‘finding a hot piece of ass’. He blew out a disgusted breath before moving through the hallway.
She was on the large sectional curled up on her side but he couldn’t tell if she was awake or asleep.
He took a step closer and said her name quietly so he didn’t alarm her. There was a half empty wine bottle and a melted carton of Ben and Jerry’s on her end table.
“Ella” he repeated.
Grayson took in her even breathing and the dark lashes sweeping over her cheeks before deciding she was sound asleep. He wrestled with himself for a moment trying to decide if he should wake her to let her know he was there or just carry her to her bed so she could be more comfortable. He finally decided she looked comfortable enough on the couch and put his pack down to go to the closet for a blanket.
It was a warm summer night but Ella was clad in a pajama tank and short shorts. He tucked the blanket securely around her and smiled when she snuggled into the snowy white down. She gave a breathy sigh as he brushed a wavy chestnut curl from her face and felt something he could never dare put a name to flit through him.
