About the Author

V. Raghavan (1908-1979) was an Indian scholar and custodian of traditional Indian culture for much of the twentieth century. The author of over 120 books, Raghavan was the secretary of the Music Academy, Madras, from 1944 until his death in 1979.

William J. Jackson is Professor Emeritus at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where he taught courses in Comparative Religion in the Department of Religious Studies for 25 years.
