The price of freedom
Few people know that the Roma people were enslaved for five centuries in the principalities of Moldova and Wallachia. And that in the mountains, the 'outlaw' Roma were hiding and fighting until slavery was abolished in 1856 under the influence of liberation ideas across Europe. The main character of the novel, Isvan, goes from being a librarian and personal secretary to the voivode to becoming the leader of the liberation movement. He will face many trials, romantic adventures, struggles, and deaths. He will be unjustly accused and convicted. But hope and faith in justice will help him endure, and achieve freedom and happiness.
