The Ranch Girls at Rainbow Lodge (Illustrated)
The Ranch Girls at Rainbow Lodge is the first volume in the series. In this story, we are introduced to the Ranch Girls: sixteen-year old Jacqueline "Jack" Ralston, her younger sister, Frieda, their cousin Jean, and Olilie, who is heretofore called Olive by the girls. As the book opens, Jack is lost in the outskirts of a Wyoming ranch where she has spent virtually all of her life. Even more embarrassing, she meets and has to ask the cruel "boy next door" for directions to the trail that will take her home. As you might imagine, this is just the beginning of the adventures that involve all of the girls.

About the Author

Margaret O'Bannon Womack Vandercook (January 12, 1877 – February 7, 1958) was an American writer of young adult literature geared mainly toward young women. Vandercook did not become a professional writer until after her husband’s death in 1908, when she was 31 years old.
