I got my start in storytelling over 25 years ago as a professional stand-up comic. Then at the age of 44, I took the all-in risk of selling a lucrative business to start a writing career. Since then I’ve written six novels, the first five under the guidance of a professional editor, and the sixth (ANY STRANGE BEAST) under the direction of an award-winning Los Angeles producer who intends to adapt it to film.
I've also written two screenplays. The first was an adaption of my Amazon five-star novel, recently rebranded as THE REVOLUTION OF CHARLOTTE SMITH, that attracted the attention of a Philadelphia producer looking for a script for his directorial debut. The second, SPONTANEOUS, was praised as "A comedic version of THE FIGHTER" by Emerging Screenwriters.
I've written 150+ blogs and essays on numerous websites, among them three of my own: ABNORMALMOM.COM (a collection of essays about finding grace during the not-so-finer things in life), CINDYSATOZS.COM (26 comedy posts based on the A to Z Challenge for bloggers held each April) and PHIL-ITICALLYINCORRECT.COM (humorous blogs about the Philadelphia Phillies). These entertaining Phillies blogs were also posted on Bleacher Report and from there were repeatedly shared on Philly.com (the joint web portal of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News). By invitation, my articles have also appeared on Technical.ly Philly and Generocity.
I was co-valedictorian of my high school class, voted
Most Likely to Succeed and spent three days in a coma. I've road tripped with a professional bull rider, earned a living breaking horses and once lost everything in a Ponzi scheme long before Bernie Madoff was a household name.
I have rehabilitated unwanted ponies, am a past volunteer for La Mancha Animal Rescue and have contributed writing to the Pennsylvania Farmers Union, a lobbying organization that promotes regenerative agriculture.
I have been known to work for food.
