Chauncey Brewster Tinker (1876-1963) was a literary scholar and critic whose specialty was the life and work of James Boswell. He attended and, later, taught at Yale. Among his notable works are Nature's Simple Plan:A Phase of Radical Thought in the Mid-Eighteenth Century (1922) and Painter and Poet: Studies in the Literary Relations of English Painting (1938).
