The Secrets of Little Saints
What happens when a group of 10-year-old boys try to have as much fun as they can get away with given the strict confines of a Catholic school in the fifties? They form a club, of course. Three members make up the original "Beboli Boys". Over the next four years the organization grows to over a hundred members, including originally forbidden Beboli Girls. Jimmy Mahoney recalls in vivid detail how his group of Beboli Boys pulled altar boy and classroom pranks and devised money-making schemes that somehow were always more funny than harmful. Mahoney's writing reminds us of a time when children had both more freedom and responsibility and his stories celebrate the unabashed, humorous cleverness of youth.

About the Author

Jimmy Mahoney was raised in the Bronx, New York, the first of six children born to Irish immigrant parents. While trying to maintain a humorous perspective on life, he has taken his professional responsibilities seriously. He graduated from Catholic schools, Cardinal Hayes High School, and Manhattan College. He became a Certified Public Accountant, hospital administrator, and university professor after earning his MBA degree at Wagner College. He has been president of his local Rotary Club, active in Big Brothers, a member of his church parish council, and the founder of a referrals networking group. Jimmy and Anne, his wife of 49 years, now have a life and health insurance business in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. They have four children and seven grandchildren.
