Disjointed, hard to follow, poorly written - no analytical insight. Mostly inuendo with no hard support to claims. Truely a disaappointment.

Read instead "The Patriarch" - same subject, much better biography.

I've read Kessler's other books enjoyed them as I enjoyed reading Sins of the Father. However, the narrative in this book doesn't seem to follow any chronological order, so on occasion the reader must backtrack to pick up the storyline again.

The story of Joseph Kennedy reads like many of the salacious articles one might find in today's less-than-gracious tabloids. This up from his bootstraps ex radio personality and 'creator' of many of America's most honored public figures (Jack, Bobby, and Ted Kennedy), held secrets to the ways of power, corruption, and countless other nefarious 'sports'. Joe Kennedy will be remembered for as much of the ill that he created as for fathering such great public figures, and this excellent book captures it all.
