Augusta Groner, nee Koppalik (1850-1929), was an Austrian author from Vienna. She wrote under the masculine pseudonym August Groner. Her work introduced to the world the first German series police detective, Joseph Muller. Groner wrote more than 30 detective novels and novellas. Her work was translated and adapted by Grace Isabel Colbron (1869-1948). Her works include: The Case of the Golden Bullet, The Case of the Lamp That Went Out, The Case of the Pocket Diary Found in the Snow, The Case of the Pool of Blood in the Pastor's Study, The Case of the Registered Letter, The Story in the Notebook, The Man With the Black Cord, Mene Tekel: A Tale of Strange Happenings, The Lady in Blue and Joe Muller: Detective.
