Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) was a Scottish author best known for his adventure novels, horror stories, and works of children's literature. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he spent much of his life traveling due to his frail health. His most famous work is Treasure Island, but he is also renowned for The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, a psychological tale exploring human duality.
