Emmaline Grey spends her days with her beloved dog, dreaming of the sea-until a brawling Highlander shatters her quiet life to pieces. Though her blindness prevents her from seeing his face, his voice is a warm blend of velvet and silk, and his rakehell ways unmistakable. Risking the wrath of a rival clan as she nurses him back to health, Emma soon realizes the real danger is the magnetic pull she feels to this half-naked Scot recovering in her bed.

With his rugged handsomeness and wicked charm, Malcolm Grant wants nothing more out of life than whisky, women, and the occasional war. The only lass he's ever trusted left him with more scars than a battlefield. Yet now at the mercy of this sweet stranger, Malcolm can barely resist the gentle hands that make him feverish with desire-until Emma, the one he will never have, is the only woman he wants . . .

Finally! Malcolm's book is here. The rogue of the group, happy with a new lass each night, a bit of whisky and don't forget a bit of mortal combat. He lacks what every other man woman and child in his clan posses, and would prefer not to think about the reasons, or feelings for that matter. Malcolm and his younger brother Cailean decided to visit their friend Harry Grey and his brothel for a bit of sport on their way home to Camlochlin. They soon encountered whisky, women and war...ahhh, what more could a rogue ask for? Emma Grey most recently of France, has just come to England to join her long estranged brother who left her, ill with fever that would take her sight, to fend for herself when their parents died. Luckily she was taken by a lovely healer who loved her as a daughter and taught her healing arts. Emma never blamed her brother, he was just fifteen himself, and afraid to catch the fever and die. Not long after she moved into her brother's brothel, a couple of visitors arrived who turned her world upside-down! This book had a few elements that spoke to me as very few others have. I found myself so very close to this heroine, to the point where I was even dreaming of her. I love Malcolm and his tenderness...his actions towards Emma remind me of my own rogue turned Knight in Shining Armor. I know that this is one book that I will add to the list of "Paula Quinn Books that I will read over and over again!" This is also a book to put on the list of "Books to take on Vacation!" It goes without saying that all of Paula Quinn's books are on my Autobuy list, in fact, I purchase her books in print, ebook and audio....ummm, yep, I'm hooked. I adore her Highlanders!! Until Next Time! xxoo Terree

This story brings together unusual elements that work well. Malcolm Grant and his brother Cailean visit a brothel for Cailean's initial experience. While there, they prevent the abuse of one of the prostitutes, which results in a fight and causes the death of the brother of the important clan in the area. The brothel owner's sister Emmaline, who is blind, has recently found him after a long separation, and is a healer who works to heal Malcolm and Cailean after the fight. Malcolm and. Emmaline fight their attraction to each other, while Cailean falls for the rescued prostitute, and the clan leader tightens his hold on everyone to exact his revenge.

Quinn has a way with dialogue. I love reading her Scottish characters use the accent. The way she writes the dialogue is so fun to read and imagine the characters speaking. She paints a beautiful story and I enjoy diving back into her plots and characters. This one focuses on the rake Malcolm Grant. He has given up on finding the love that his cousins, parents, and grandparents seem to have found and always talk about. He has become cynical and has given up on finding it for himself. His brother and him go to a brothel so his younger brother can be with a woman for the first time, but Malcolm has no plans to indulge himself. That is when he meets Emma, the blind sister of his friend Harry who runs the brothel. He and his brother get into a fight and are badly injured. It is Emma's job to save both of them. While he is her patient, they get to know each other. She knows his reputation, so she tries to stay clear of him, but she does enjoy talking with him. Malcolm also finds that he enjoys her company. She can't see him so his usual way of charming ladies doesn't work on her. They spend time together and grow to care for each other. Emma falls more quickly, but she is scared she cares for him more than he cares for her. The scenes on the beach are the epitome of romance, man are they beautiful! The conflict and drama kept the pace going and there were no dull areas. It was an overall wonderful and sweet read. I recommend it for the beach scenes alone, very yummy

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review! It's filled with beautiful romance and light humor! Another great romance from Paula Quinn and a great way to continue her series, The MacGregors: Highland Heirs. Another captivating read with her fourth story The Taming of Malcolm Grant. I really enjoyed her two main characters Emmaline Grey and Malcolm Grant. It tells the story of Emmaline, along with her seeing eye dog, named Gascon, who lives a peaceful life until a man will change her life forever. Emma, who after a having been sick, became blind and is now a healer, she is still a virgin. Enters in her quiet life, the rugged and devilish rake named Malcolm, a charming highlander. Having been shot, he need her helps, so she decides to do everything in her power to heal him. But since she is blind, she needs to “feel” him , in order to search his body for wounds. Some scenes are so cute, because Emma, is very curious this man, that every women want in their beds, but now, he is in her bed, being healed. Getting to know each other, the attraction becomes physical, this new feeling overwhelms her. What will happen next when the sweet and gentle Emma fall for this rugged but caring Malcolm? Will his heart “melt” for her? Just enjoy their journey, it's so much fun to follow them. It's delicious! Passionate! Fast paced and very well written. Another captivating story for The MacGregors: Highland Heirs! Again, Ms. Quinn didn’t disappoint me!

Not only was Malcolm Grant tamed, but this reader's undivided attention was captured in the latest work by the incomparable Paula Quinn! The fourth book in her Highland Heirs series, this was a lovely story of finding good in oneself and others. This author beautifully demonstrated how finding love does not require your eyes, but your heart. Creating more than a few misty-eyed moments, the purity and sweetness in the awakening of genuine love between the characters was remarkable and touching. Ms. Quinn deftly juxtaposed the hero's outer strength against the heroine's inner strength for a wonderfully symbiotic display of partnership at its best. Full of all the historic tidbits, past character updates and romance that this author is know for, The Taming of Malcolm Grant can be added as yet another success in this author's illustrious body of work. *I received this ARC via Netgalley.* *While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*
