About the Author

Why do we love telling and listening to scary stories while huddled around a campfire? Why do we watch gory horror movies late at night while knowing full well that they will give us nightmares? Why do we tremble in fear at the thought of walking into a haunted house but enter anyway? Are we explorers who desire to learn the unknown, or are we all just adrenaline junkies?

There may not be definitive answers to any of the above, but those questions are what prompt L.S. Michaels to write. Since he was a child, he balanced his instinctive fear of the dark with his fascination with the things that may hide there. Even before finding his love of writing, he was known by many as the person to see for a great scary story, some of which were based on his personal experiences investigating the paranormal.

In addition to writing, L.S. Michaels has an eclectic background ranging from unloading supply trucks all night and grueling day labor, to office management, adult education, and small business ownership. He was born and raised in rural Georgia but moved to Metro-Atlanta to further his education and career. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Public Service and a Juris Doctorate of Law, is now an avid public speaker, and a strong proponent of youth civics education.
