About the Author

Carlton A. Adams grew up on the peninsula of the San Francisco Bay area. Writing developed from early youth, as young Carlton would write serial stories in words and cartoon figures, similar to his favorite Walt Disney adventure stories. He kept his friends and family entertained with cliff-hanger endings, usually to be resolved by the next chapter.
During junior high, high school, and college, Carlton wrote stories based on the experiences of young people growing up in the San Francisco Bay area. Carlton took a creative writing class, but decided that being a business major would be the way to earn an income.
Intermittently, Carlton would write plays for his fellow employees to act out at Christmas parties. He also authored an intrinsic curriculum for the developmentally disabled to gain fruitful work habits while in sheltered workshops. He has written several roasts of employees leaving his place of work.
Carlton’s life’s work has been in a field not of business but of serving those with developmental disabilities. This challenging profession has opened doors for Carlton to develop and perform skills parallel to other professions, such as social work, accounting, management, personnel, law, acting, teaching, oratory, coaching, creating new programs, quality assurance, health care, and production. He has had the opportunity to be a director, playwright, musician, photographer, janitor, transporter, executive, financier, procurer, psychologist, sociologist, fitness trainer, cook, interviewer—oh, and creative writer, too.
