There Is No Normal: Finding Hope in the Dailyness of Grief

Every flower petal is unique, just as each of our life stories is unique. In the blink of an eye, Anne Alexander’s world was turned upside down and inside out when her thirty-seven-year-old husband suddenly died of a massive heart attack—in a movie theater—and she was left to raise two young children.
She experienced a myriad of emotions in processing her grief: sadness, confusion, helplessness, anger denial, loneliness, despair, pain, fear, bitterness, abandonment, regret, panic, inadequacy, apathy—just to name a few.
Over the past thirty-plus years, she has navigated her way through a maze of decisions, as well as through the murky waters that she encountered as a widow and single mom. If you are looking for some realistic guidelines regarding the grieving process, this book is for you. Anne’s style of writing is personal, warm, and sensitive with dashes of light-heartedness sprinkled throughout.
When the unknown future causes you to panic, hope can be found in the GOLD acrostic that describes four principles to take to heart as you travel down this uncharted path of grief.
God is always working behind the scenes but generally we aren’t aware of it. Be encouraged as Anne shares about the many handprints of God that she discovered in the ensuing years. Most likely, you can find His handprints in your story too.
