Overview

Rule #1: Do not fall for your brother's best friend.
Rule # 2: Absolutely do not fall for your brother's best friend.
Rule # 3: Don't break the rules.

Shay

Jackson Stone is hot—like burn-down-buildings kind of hot. He's also my brother's best friend, and the memory of one kiss with him years ago still might get to me. Maybe. But, I am not looking for a second chance.

When I return to the small town of Stolen Hearts Valley, my life is a hot mess. I'm a few bucks shy of broke with nowhere else to go. My heart's battered and bruised, and when it comes to romance, the door is nailed shut.

But Jackson's the kind of man women ruin panties over. Oh, and he's my roommate. Talk about too close for comfort.

When I'm at my most vulnerable, he pulls that whole knight-in-shining-armor thing. What can I say? He's d*mn near impossible to resist.

Jackson

Shay Martin is my best friend's little sister. And she's so hot she nearly sets me on fire.

She's a walking complication, and I don't do complications. But I can't seem to stay away from her. It doesn't help that her bedroom is across the hall from mine.

Every look, every kiss, every touch nearly brings me to my knees. I can't keep my balance, much less think. Before I know it, I'll do anything for her. Complications be d*mned.

*This is a full-length standalone romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

I really loved this story! It was really cute and just a feel good story. Both Jackson and Shay have not had an easy time of it. Jackson was special forces and so he deals with some repercussions from everything that that entails. He has a pretty good handle on it and has found ways of coping and feeling better but is not expecting to ever get in a relationship because of the baggage he carries with him. Shay has just gotten out of an abusive relationship. She is looking to start over and is trying to get back on her feet. Shay's brother and Jackson are childhood best friends and Jackson's sister is Shay's childhood best friend. They grew up together and she comes out to the ranch that Jackson and his sister own to get back on her feet. She helps out on the ranch. The sister is gone, so it is just Jackson and Shay in the big ranch house and there chemistry is off the charts. At first they try and avoid it a little bit but that doesn't last long. I loved the way that this all came about. It was perfect for them and just felt natural and easy. I loved that aspect of this story. They have their issues that they are dealing with and had set everything up as no expectations but the feelings just come on strong. I loved how they handle the changes. The story flows really well. It's smooth and kept me drawn in from beginning to end. This was fantastic and I can't wait to read more of these characters that we met on the Ranch in future books! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Shay is back in her hometown after being in an abusive relationship. She is going to be working and living on her brother's best friend's ranch getting paid while doing so. Jackson is a vet and swapped with everything that's going on with his ranch so he isn't looking for anymore complications. So he knows he should be avoiding everything that Shay is offering him but he can't seem to make himself stay away from her. When he learns more of what she went through with her ex all he wants to do is wrap her in his arms to keep her safe. However Jackson feels guilty for being with her because of his friendship with her brother and everything she has went through so he tries to back off. Will Jackson finally see that Shay is the one for him? Will Shay show Jackson that she doesn't need to be handle with kid gloves? This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between the is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for Bad Boy Update.

Jackson was in the military and has come home with his share of trauma . He runs the ranch but it's also become an animal rescue farm where he rehabs animals. Shay is a victim of her ex-husband's abuse and, even though he's in prison, she needs to escape and find a safe place to live. Her best friend, Remy, suggests that she live at her family's ranch and the first person she sees is Jackson. He's not only Remy's big brother, he's also her brother's best friend! There's even more....they shared a momentous kiss years ago, but nothing came of it. Now they come face to face once again and the connection is still there. Jackson is broken from the death and trauma he witnessed in the military and Shay is broken from the trauma of an abusive man. Jackson fears relationships and Shay fears becoming involved again with a man. What a perfect set-up for a story of healing, rebirth, self-understanding and love. I am so touched by the tender manner in which Jackson helped Shay come back to life and she was just as gentle with his spirit. This is the perfect way to tell this story and it is magnificent!

Shay has survived a terrible relationship and needs a place where she can lick her wounds and take a breather whilst trying to get her life back on track. What she doesn't bargain on is Jackson and the profound impact he will have on her life. Jackson is amazing and will steal your heart and tickle your fancy. These two are both very well-crafted characters with depth and guts and the story, whilst dealing with the aftermath of a hard subject matter, is well-written and easy to read. The emotion is palpable and the chemistry is off the charts. I received this ARC from Bad Boy Update for my honest review.

He wants to take her ex out. Another hot romance from J.H. Croix. Love the way Croix writes. They don't shy away from sensitive subjects and makes the characters seem more realistic. If you have read the Into the Fire series, then you have met the brother of the main girl in this book. Shay has been through an abusive relationship and has moved in with her brother's best friend and his sister who is her best friend. Jackson is happy to be helping his best friend's sister out, he just wishes his sister was there to distract Shay. He is not looking for anything serious because he thinks he is too damaged from his time in a war. This is a must read to find out just how their chemistry works and why they both think nothing can come from each other.

This author never fails to deliver seriously hot and swoon-worthy story! It was a great start for the new series and I can’t wait for more! Shay and Jackson’s story was field with emotions, personal growth and healing, and of course some steamy hot chemistry! They were both easily lovable characters that you can connect with and can’t help but root for their HEA. It was a truly enjoyable read and I gladly recommend it! I received an ARC of this book from “Bad Boy Update” and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I just loved this book. The long term effects of mental, emotional, physical and sexual abuse were portrayed accurately and sensitively. Even though Shay had gone to therapy, she was still suffering flashbacks and such. I personally know this is something that doesn't really go away, only lessens. I love that Jackson knew how to calm her, to sense when she was panicking and do something about it without making a big deal out of it. Jackson had his own scars from war, was dealing with his own issues, and I am so glad he finally removed his head from his rear and owned his feeling for Shay. Whenever I see a book by J. H. Croix I immediately buy it. Assuming I haven't pre-ordered it already. All of her series connect in some way and I love being able to see past characters again. Can't wait for the next one. The sneak peak at the end was awesome and I am really excited to get to the next one. Hope we see more of Jackson and Shay in it, too.

J.H. Croix did a great job on This Crazy Love, this was a great story, it was well written and had a great plot that was filled with many feelings. Shay and Jackson were strong characters, both have had bumpy lives, it hasn't been easy. Even after all this time, Jackson and Shay still had that strong connection. They healed each other, they were good for one another. I enjoyed Shay and Jackson's story, these two were great together. This was a great read. Thank you, J.H. Croix. Great work :)

ONE SENSATIONAL EXPERIENCE!!! Wow! Croix rocks this baby to its core with its jaw dropping theme. Her eye and mind for detail just blows me away. This little gem grabs your attention and holds it from start to finish. Just when you think it can't get any deeper. Think again. This little gem will keep you in a tail spin and on a razors edge throughout its entirety. Croix's no turning back attitude really set the stage for this striking storyline and gripping plot. This non-stop, action packed, fast paced, page turning bombshell brings this bad boy bursting to life beautifully. Throw in all the drama, angst, danger and suspense and you have the making for one thrilling experience. The characters are authentic, relatable and so realistic you feel like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphically detailed you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Amazing job Croix, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

I love that we finally get Shay's story!! You first read about her in Remy's book. She has left her abusive ex and needs to start over. She hasn't clued anyone in on exactly what happened, but she feels safe at Jackson's ranch. She had one kiss with him years ago and their chemistry is still there. He tries to stay away because of her brother, and her fragile state. He is a confirmed bachelor, until he can't resist anymore. Shay finally feels at peace, and feels an attraction she never thought she was capable of again. This is raw and gritty at times, but also so sweet and smoking hot!! I loved this!!!

Shay moves in with Jackson, her brother's best friend after suffering in an abusive relationship. Jackson also has his demons from his past military career. Although they grew up together as friends, as adults they realise there is an electric attraction between them. They both try and resist but the chemistry is too strong. Some lovely subsidiary characters in this that work in the animal rescue that Jackson's family farm has become. Not to mention the really cute animals that appear in this story. I received an ARC for an honest review.

Strong Storyline a Must Read The author wrote an amazing storyline about rehabilitation. Rehab of two legged and four legged. The two legged were the main characters Shay and Jackson. Shay had left the area and married a man who ended up being an abuser. After an horrific ordeal she came to live on childhood friend’s’ farm of siblings, Ash and Jackson. Ash was off following a Rodeo Star and Jackson (felt broken due to his military career) was running the ranch which was turned into an animal rescue farm that treats and rehabilitates them. Jackson was also Shay’s brother’s best friend so there’s that whole bro bond. But there is an attraction and they must make a decision while working with animals. At the end of the book the author has included a wonderful note about Shay and abuse. She also included a list of resources on domestic violence and abuse. Kudos to the author for doing this. I received this ARC from “Bad Boy Update” for my honest review so I’m leaving this for your consideration. Peace.

Shay Martin is back in her small hometown of Stolen Hearts Valley when she left a terribly abusive, damaging relationship. All she wants is a new beginning, a chance to start over and heal. Arrangements are made for her to work and stay with her brothers best friend, Jackson Stone. Many years ago, Shay and Jackson had shared a very special, unbelievable kiss. But both have been through painful, difficult times since then and have no expectations of any kind of relationship. Jackson had a picture in his mind of the annoying little sister of his best friend. Seeing the woman she has become brings an instant attraction and he feels unworthy of her because of his own damaging pain from the military. He was aware of some of the experiences she had endured, even though he knew that probably wasn’t the whole story. Shay likewise fights the feelings that she has for this man. Jackson is so different from her horrible ex. Maybe taking a chance with him can bring back the trust that her ex beat out of her. Maybe it’s time to make some new and better memories – for both of them? This was such a good story! The characters were wonderfully described and the chemistry between the two felt so natural. The story line was well paced, steadily moving through the experiences and pain the two have suffered toward hope of something better. The author has a real talent with bringing believable events into the story to touch the heart and bring hope and healing to worthy individuals who need it most. Grab your copy and experience their journey.

Caught up in rain clouds, Jackson and Shay stumble upon their rainbow. At the worst possible time. Love and heartache go hand in hand in this emotional roller coaster ride. This Crazy Love fights it's way through some serious drama to find the way into love. Heartbreak haunts her, danger stalks her and attraction fuels the fire. Jackson is no hero, but he wants to be her avenging angel. Croix knows how to break a heart. I left a piece my heart behind.
