5++ Stars!
"Robyn Ryan won my admiration in This Piece Of My Heart. I loved her writing from the go. Everything in the story line spoke to me and the sweet and slow (and the low drama) romance of Caryn and Andrew made me so happy. In This Piece Of My Soul, I felt like mine (heart and soul) had been left in tatters. Ryan constructs a story where two people, firmly in love and in their newlywed stage of their marriage, are tested to extremes."--Cyndi, Once Upon A Page

This is the first time that I've read this author, and I'm glad I finally got the opportunity, as I LOVED LOVED LOVED This Piece of My Soul! However, my dramatic girly girl emotions are up and running, so even though I LOVED this story, that doesn't change the fact that Robyn M. Ryan is now on the list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD with that ending!--Jennifer Pierson's Reviews

"What started as a sweet, lite romance took a hard right turn that I never saw coming. My heart absolutely broke for Caryn, the heroine that we fell in love with in This Piece of My Heart."--AlwaysScrappin

They believe love conquers all.

One of pro-hockey's golden couples, Andrew and Caryn Chadwick
live in the limelight reserved for elite professional athletes. On their second anniversary, Andrew receives an unexpected contract offer to join the Tampa Suns. As they look forward to a new adventure, neither foresees an event that challenges their love and threatens their marriage.

Until it doesn't.

A sudden and senseless accident threatens Andrew's life and inexplicably drives a wedge between the couple. Shattered by the incident, paralyzed by fear that it could happen again, Caryn finds herself at odds with her husband and unable to provide the support he needs--at the time he is most vulnerable.

As their perfect world crumbles, each makes choices that take Andrew and Caryn further apart. Distrust, fears, and secrets construct walls. This Piece of My Soul follows the joint and separate paths the couple navigate as each hopes to rediscover the love that can conquer all.

**Although This Piece of My Soul is the second book in the Clearing the Ice Trilogy, it can be read as a standalone novel~However, it ends with a Happy For Now (HFN) cliffhanger. Andrew and Caryn's story concludes in This Piece of Our Being.**

About the Author

From early childhood, Robyn M. Ryan knew she wanted to write. This goal grew throughout elementary and high school, first composing novels featuring favorite TV and music personalities, then venturing into sports writing. Attending UGA’s journalism school launched her career in public relations, which included an internship with the Atlanta Flames NHL hockey team. Robyn wrote the books she wanted to read, and many years later, she published the first book in her Clearing the Ice hockey romance series, This Piece of My Heart in May, 2016. This book was nominated for the 2016 Summer Indie Book Awards.

This Piece of My Soul, the second book in the series, continues the series and introduces the Tampa Suns hockey team.

Besides writing, Robyn’s passions include following NASCAR and the New York Rangers, and splitting time between homes in Atlanta and Palm Coast, with two brilliant Westies who definitely rule both homes.

As do many writers, Robyn chooses to write using a pseudonym—hers is a combination of her sons’ names, a contribution from her youngest nephew.

Robyn Ryan has done it again! "This Piece of My Soul" is a fantastic follow-up to the first book in the series (This Piece of My Heart). Caryn & Andrew have made the move to Tampa where Drew accepted a new contract to play for the Suns. Their life together was falling into pace and both seemed happy in Florida with the new team and new friends. But early into the season, a life-threatening injury affects Drew and Cary more than they could possibly imagine. Not to give any spoilers away, but the gist of the book is how and if Andrew & Caryn will be able to survive the injury. Robyn has done a fantastic job of taking us deeper into the characters' psyches and aha also introduces us to some great new characters. Some of the new people in Cary & Drew's live are great and some not so much. The story is filled with so many emotions. She had me laughing and crying and angry and content and envious and sad... But man, I was frustrated through a lot of the book. I just wanted to reach in there and slap some of the characters upside the head for their fears and insecurities and for their stubbornness and for just being bitc--s! I'm really glad the story got to where it did by the end. But there's so much that needs to come out and be resolved in the next book! Summer just can't get here soon enough! I can't wait to read "This Piece of My Being"!! Thanks for another wonderful book Robyn!

It can be read as a standalone but if you want the whole story start with book one. This was like a continuation of their story. This time we see the happy couple happens to be real. They have real life issues. The real ups and downs of how couples cope with life and what all get thrown in their path. Love comes with its test and trial. Life does the same. This time around we get to see the trials of an accident and its impact on their relationship. Friends, family, foes, and more test the bounds of their relationships all the way around. These new developments/impacts makes for a very interesting turn of events and a well-rounded read. I enjoyed this read a great deal after reading book one the week before.

This is the 3rd book in the 'Clearing the Ice' Hockey romance of Caryn and Andrew. Married and deeply in love, they become tested as Andrew faces a professional athlete's worse nightmare. The author fully takes us into their horror as Andrew puts all his energy into recovering and the world of long-term rehab rings true. It is heartbreaking to see a third party come between these two soul mates, and it becomes apparent that things can quickly get out of hand. Even as they struggle, you believe their love can get them through....it's just not simple and it's going to take time. I found Caryn to be a character who is steady and true throughout all 3 books, but it is interesting to see the differences Andrew goes though as his injury impacts his moods. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy characters who are in love enough to go through adversity, and come through it even more in love. I look forward to reading about some of the other characters in their world in the future.
