Overview

On a windy rain swept night in September Jonathan O'Malley was transported in back in time to 1950, or so it seemed. Was it the morning fog that concealed the Three Mile Island towers from view, or where they really gone?

Jonathan made his way to his destination college, the University of Pittsburgh finding himself embroiled in a decades earlier place and time. It was a world of racial prejudice punctuated by confrontations and countless daily challenges. He would reach his destination as planned, but his destiny there was unlike anything he could have imagined. Harry Truman was president and gasoline was twenty-seven cents a gallon. Yes it was 1950, but he was to find that certain parts of history as he knew them, had somehow inexplicably changed.

As with most freshman boys in college he fell in love. He eventually looses his auburn haired Kathryn because of his gambling and other nefarious endeavors. He attempts to win her back by helping her younger sister who has contracted Polio. Able to link back to the present day using his laptop he finds that Jonas Salk had died in 1950 from inoculation with the live Polio virus. Can he help Dr. Salk find a cure? Can he change history? Was this real, or just a dream.

Dare you to take this journey with Jonathan, be ready to travel into a time warp continuum from which there may be no return.

About the Author

Hello Potential Readers:

This was the second novel that I’ve written and probably my most favorite . It’s an interesting little story that you’ll find to be a real page turner. I have also recently written a few children’s stories and a splash of poetry. I spent the better part of my adult life writing technical articles, contracts, grants, regulations and a whole bunch of other boring stuff in my capacity as Fire Chief here in the small City of Westfield, Mass. I’m now retired and have the pleasure of writing for fun and entertainment. I can only hope that you get half as much enjoyment reading my work as I did creating it.

Cordially,

Frank O'Brien
