It offers commentary on the differential diagnosis of common presenting chief complaints with numerous color photos and figures to aid in assessment and treatment as well as disposition.
Purpose: This ambitious pocket manual is meant to provide an overview of the breadth of emergency medicine. It mirrors the field's most trusted textbook (Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide, 7th edition, Tintinalli et al. (McGraw-Hill, 2011)), but is designed in a format that is amenable to use during a shift in the emergency department.
Audience: The content is broad enough to be used by a wide range of emergency medicine providers, including medical students, residents, midlevel providers, and physicians. The book succeeds in presenting adequate detail to continue to be useful even to seasoned practitioners.
