This book was very well read and the storyline was remarkable. I honestly couldn't put it down. The flow, the characters - all very true-to-life. Extraordinary writing by Smith. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery and dwells on suspense.
I ordered this book on a recommendation from a mutual friend of the author. Had I not known, I never would have guessed this was a first book. The characters were well developed and cleverly intertwined (with a Hiaasen sort of feel and levity), as were the multiple plot lines. A touch of the supernatural lent a great texture to the story, without being over-done or ridiculous. The whole book was a page-turner, and concluded with an excellently written denouement, where no strings were left hanging. If you're looking for a great deal on a fantastic read, order this book - you'll be better than pleasantly surprised; you'll also be awaiting the completion of Gary Smith's next works....
