Overview

About the Author

Bruce lives just outside of Philadelphia with his wife and three children. In addition to writing, he enjoys baseball, playing guitar, reading, church, cooking and being a dad.

Bruce grew up at the Jersey Shore (the picture is at Point Pleasant Beach, where Sands of Time is set) and graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach, NJ where he first became enthralled with reading and writing. From his early influences Bruce was introduced to and fell in love with Shakespeare, Marlow, Henry James and Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Bruce A. Sarte’s Towering Pines Volume One: Room 509 is an interesting novel that grips the reader’s attention throughout. The suspense captures the reader until the very end. Sarte’s plot was solid and easily intertwined the characters throughout the storyline....he author proved his strength within his characters and his writing.

Mr. Sarte writes with a realism that makes the supernatural element seem almost plausible. He gives his readers vivid and descriptive scenes and multi-faceted characters we can believe in. He builds Admiral Farragut Military Academy into a real place that contrasts almost shockingly with the fact that a vengeful ghost seems to be stalking its grounds.

As other reviewers have note Towering Pines defies being pigeon-holed into one category. The intriguing story of Liam, a young transfer student at a military academy, is so "real" you can smell the salt air of the Admiral Farragut Academy. What happen next .. well that's the story. Suffice it to say it's not dull. Elements of mystery, horror, paranormal goings on come flying on keeping the reader guessing to the last minute
