About the Author

Over the past 30+ years, Sujit Pal has held multiple management positions in various areas of the Technology industry, including General Manager of entire corporate division.

While living in London, England with his family, Sujit was first introduced to the original Star Trek TV show (with Capt. Kirk & Mr. Spock) at the early age of 10 back in 1966. After moving to New York City with his family in 1971, Sujit assimilated quickly into the local culture by attending Haaren High School. Motivated strongly by Star Trek (and partly by parental pressure), Sujit pursued Physics for his Bachelor's degree at New York University.

For the last 2 decades of the 20th century, Sujit worked in the technology industry, starting as a software programmer in a small start-up company and ending up as its General Manager, which via M&A became one of the world's largest leading software and technology services companies with offices in over 70 countries - SunGard.

In this century, Sujit continues to consult in the technology industry on a part time basis and lives in Arizona with his wife Anindita, who, like Sujit is also originally from India, and whom he met while she was working on her PhD in Economics at the University of Southern California.

Sujit attributes forming a lot of his views on management and leadership, as mentioned in this book, to the wide variety of staff and management with whom he worked along side through out his careers. In particular, Sujit always credits lot of his success in his management roles to a select few upper management mentors of his at SunGard.

This book is the natural culmination of his two favorite interests, Management/Leadership and Star Trek.
