Two Equal Parts: a Sonnet in Two Parts

"Two Equal Parts" is a sonnet I wrote for my wedding. It is a toast to the loving relationship between my wife and I as well as an analysis of relationships in general. Its words are meant for all partnerships and I encourage every relationship to ponder this poem's meaning.

About the Author

I am a teacher who believes that I have something positive to offer each of my students. I love both the English and Spanish languages equally, and that expressing myself in said languages is something I value greatly. I am a mature adult in most matters that require a certain level of maturity, but I prefer to indulge in various immature endeavors as well. I believe that imagination is important and that everyone should work to always entertain their imagination's desires. I am currently working on a novel that I started in 2008, but have yet to finish due to laziness, inopportune moments of inspiration, and living a substantially busy life. I am trying my hand at a genre I love, fantasy, and my only real goal is to get something in print. I started this novel writing for my own purposes, and I would like to finish the process in that way as well. If I make a few bucks along the way I will undoubtedly be pleased, but to me that is not the reason to write. Last but not least, I am madly in love with my fiance and am very grateful that I've found the love of my life. She and I are to be married in August 2015, and I get more excited the closer the date gets. I wish the best to any and all people who follow their passions in life, and in the words of one of my best friends J.R.B. "May your pen always write true."
