From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes a captivating novella about a rugged rodeo star who will do anything to protect the people he loves.
When rodeo star Crew Lawton loses everything in a bad bet, he has no choice but to take a new job to pay off his debts - even if it means becoming the face of an expensive male skincare line. Crew is used to getting sweaty and rustling in the dirt, not posing for photo shoots. And he's certainly not used to being bossed around by a woman who doesn't even know the difference between bulls and broncs. But Crew owes money to dangerous criminals, and he'll do anything Della says in order to pay them back and keep them far away from his family in Loveless, Texas...
The launch of her new men's line for her family's company means everything to Della Deveaux, and she's not willing to let some rugged, arrogant cowboy ruin her campaign. Crew Lawton is the last man she would have chosen to represent her chic, sophisticated brand. Unfortunately, her father already invested millions in Crew's stupidly handsome face. Yet the more time they spend together, Della and Crew realize that opposites do attract. But when the time comes for Crew to face his past mistakes, will he be able to protect his family...and the woman he's come to love?
"Crownover writes cowboys that make you want to pack your bags in search of a small-town ranch! Alpha and broody, they hit all the right buttons." --Melissa Foster, New York Times bestselling author

Unbroken by Jay Crownover, starts this brand new series off with a BANG! From the start, we're immediately brought the action as we sit on the edge of our seats, biting our nails in anticipation! Crew Lawton I would say is the bad boy of the Lawton siblings. A famous rodeo star whose got himself into some deep trouble. He's got charm and swagger but his downfall is his gambling addiction which has caused him to owe a lot of money to someone he should not. This brings us to Della Deveaux, her father wants Crew's face for her new product line. Della doesn't care much for a southern boy, she's a city girl through and through but even she could not resist Crew's sexiness. Crew hates the very idea of having to work with Della but he can't let this opportunity pass him by. He's looking at hefty amount of money that would finally make his debt paid in full. Though things between Crew and Della are not a piece of cake at the beginning, their chemistry is undeniable. They are two opposites who attract. Two people who are very judgmental of one another... That is until they begin sending time together. Once those sparks fly, you best get out of the way! Unbroken was so much fun to read and a wonderful start to an all-new series by Jay. I'm a sucker when it comes to reading novellas because I always end up wanting more. This proved to be the case once more as I'm now looking forward to Case's book next!

Filled with mystery and suspense about an anti-hero who lives in Loveless, Texas. Well a book that starts out that depressing can only get better. Right? Well I guess it depends on your definition of happy for now endings. Crew is indebted to the type of guy who’ll easily make you pay with interest or else. He’s got a gambling issue and even having a new love interest with his boss Della is not quite enough to change. But when push comes to shove, will Crew man-up and finally do what is right for himself, his family, and for Della? I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Unbroken is the start of a new series by Jay Crownover. I was hooked from page one and can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of this series. Both small town and cowboy it hit all my buttons. Crownover nails Della and Crew and their story is perfect. My only complaint was that it was a novella, that’s why I want the next book now. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novella.

Short but sweet!

4 stars — This was just a fun, solid series prequel. Novellas can be tricky sometimes, in that so often I don’t get enough to feel satisfied. But I was satisfied with this one. Both characters had a lot going on with them, they were flawed but redeemable. I felt for Della’s struggle for her father’s approval, and I could understand how that resulted in her drive. I enjoyed watching her struggle with what she thought she wanted for her campaign, and realizing what would actually work. I loved the way her personal story wrapped up. Crew had a lot of serious issues going on with him, I didn’t quite expect it. And I feel like while Ms. Crownover didn’t dive deep into the addiction, she didn’t gloss over it either. He actually really got to my feelz with how he saw himself and his worth… It took me a bit to get into their chemistry with one another. I’m not sure what was stalling me, but it wasn’t an immediate grab. But I thought their steamy scenes were on point eventually, and I enjoyed their relationship once it got more established. Obviously the action/suspense was both a little over the top, and kinda perfect for the book. I honestly have very little to say. It was fun, entertaining, enjoyable. I wasn’t blown away, but I was certainly pulled in enough to want to read more in the series.

I love all things Jay Crownover and this book was no different. Sad that it was only 130 pages but it was a great start to the new Loveless Series. I recommend this a first time Jay Book to anyone who loves love. I can't wait for Case's story next.

I really enjoyed Crew and Della's connection in Unbroken. They were the epitome of "opposites attract" which made it even more satisfying. When this rodeo tough guy agrees to be the "face" for Della's new cosmetics line, you knew he had to be in dire need of money. As this was a novella, things move pretty quickly so I'm not going to tell much more about the story itself. Suffice it to say, this novella not only gives us their story but sets the groundwork for this series. We get to meet Crew's other siblings and get more backstory on not just his family but a little about Della's too. In addition, at the end of Unbroken, they provide the prologue for the next book in the series which will be Crew's brother, Case's book. It sounds great, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It is no secret that I love Jay Crownover’s writing. I adore her broken heroes and take-no-crap ladies. The relationships she writes are a thing to shoot for. This book is no different. Jay Crownover weaves these small intricate details that make all the difference in books such as these. Della, the take charge this is my world woman, is a force to be reckoned with. She will not let anything stand in her way of making sure her product line launches successfully. And Crew is the same way. He won’t let anything come between him and his family. No matter how misguided the intention. The two of them together are explosive and even more so when you add the attraction neither one of them can deny. Della and Crew both try to resist each other but there is no denying fate. (Or whatever it is you want to call it.) Crew seemed determined to enjoy the little mini vacation that Della’s job afforded him but the looming danger was never far from his mind. The ease of his relationship with his sister was adorable to watch and reminded me so much of my own relationship with my siblings. He was going to do a good job but was not willing to sacrifice his sister in the process. He wanted to make it right and recognized that he had a problem and that he needed help. That was epic to see. He really grew a lot in a short of amount of time and Jay Crownover made it so that it wasn’t too quick. It seemed viable, the amount of time. Della needed more of a push to grow. She needed to hear how Crew was affecting her life from various sources before realizing that he was meant to be in her life. In one way or another. Crew’s sister getting involved seemed like such a sisterly thing to do, I thought it was hilarious. There was ample evidence that neither Crew nor Della had the perfect childhood they portrayed. But that didn’t stop them from getting that happy ever after. It was the cutest thing. And something one should read when little eyes are not near.(Wink Wink)

Unbroken is the perfect title for Crew Lawton and Della Deveaux’s story because both of them refuse to surrender regardless of how lost or lonely they seem to be, and while they clearly come from two different worlds, they teach each other how to find a balance, not only between their differing personalities but also when it comes to learning to live between the two worlds that exist, which by all means is easier said than done, but it also appears to be essential for these two stubborn souls to find a way to be together. Despite the instantaneous attraction that exists between this cowboy and businesswoman, both of them have their own issues to sort out, and, in Della’s mind, her vision for her family’s company’s new ad campaign is not a reckless and carefree country dweller, and to be honest, Crew doesn’t see himself in the role either, but both of them are stuck with each other and have to do what needs to be down in order for Crew to payoff his gambling debt and Della to prove to herself and to her father that she has what it takes to run this company. But what happens when these two let down their guard and take off their respective masks illustrates an inevitable connection - one that might just be worth risking it all, as long as Crew can clean up the mess he’s in and Della can find a way to prove just how capable of a business woman she is while also claiming something just for herself…the problem is…both Della and Crew need to get out of their own way in order for everything to work out. Jay Crownover is one of my absolute favorite romance authors, so when I read that she was introducing readers to a brand new series with the release of Unbroken, I couldn’t wait to enter the new world she created and see exactly what Loveless, Texas, had in store for Crownover’s characters and her readers. And while not much time is spent in the small Texan town, the fact that we meet the Lawton siblings and gain insight into exactly who they are and what they stand for, I cannot wait for Justified. Unbroken has a little bit of everything within its pages - there’s sexual tension, witty foreplay, internal diatribes, and a mix of suspense, drama, and realizations, which makes Crew and Della’s story a great way to introduce everything that Jay Crownover’s new series will deliver to readers in the upcoming releases. 4 Poison Apples

WOW! What a fantastic intro to Loveless, Texas. I'm loving that there is a family dynamic that each 3 siblings are completely different. Jay has a way with describing a scene and expressing feelings that makes me feel like I'm in a scene or character. I'm definitely going to be reading the rest of the series. I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

3 1/2 Stars Crew made his fortune riding broncos and lost it (and more) gambling. To pay back his bookie, he takes a job being the face of a new men’s line of hair products. Della just wants her father to proud of her and she hopes that her new line of men’s products will do it. She just has to get the hotter than hell cowboy to agree to a makeover. This is a quick read as it is the prequel to the Loveless, Texas Series. I did enjoy the opposite attract story, but I just had a hard time believing that Crew was a really bad guy, because in the story, he just has a gambling problem, he’s not really a bad guy. I also thought the story could have been longer ... it just went too quick and there could have been more to Crew and Della’s story. I received an early copy courtesy of Forever-Grand Central Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Fabulous set up for the series to come. Loved the opposites attract soty between cowboy Crew Lawton and Parisian perfume heiress Della Deveaux. Normally there is no way Crew would have agreed to be the face of a new men's line of skincare but these aren't normal times for Crew. He's in a world of trouble and needs money. Luckily this crazy contract offers a lot of that. Will the crazy intense chemistry that flares between Della and Crew burn them both? I need more of these Lawton's and I can't wait for book one in the series. I highly recommend this one to hold you over.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher** Jay Crownover is one of my go-to authors, so I'm thrilled to dive into her new Loveless, Texas series! Crew Lawton may be a bronc rider, but he has gotten himself in hot water due to his gambling. He's trying to figure out how he's going to get himself out of his latest predicament when a beautiful woman shows up following his last ride of the year telling him he's the new face of her soon-to-be released male skincare line. Della Deveaux is doing everything she can to make sure the launch of the skincare line for her family's business is a success. She's not impressed when she meets Crew for the first time, but what she knows is she is not going to let a cowboy ruin what could finally be the thing that proves to her father she's worthy of inheriting the company someday. When Crew and Della begin working together and get to know a little more about one another, the sparks fly between them. They don't have much time together before Crew has to head out to pay his debts, but before he departs, Della overhears a conversation that devastates her. Will Crew be able to make things right with this woman who has come to mean a lot to him in such a short time? Unbroken was a great way to set up the upcoming books in the series. I'm very excited to get to spend more time with the Lawton's as this series continues. I'm very intrigued to see how things continue to unfold in the town of Loveless!
