The Patient Administration Division (PAD) is one of the administrative services established by the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) to support the health care delivery mission of medical treatment facilities. Organization of the Army Medical Department; the Health Care Delivery System; functions and the organizational structure of the Patient Administration Division; general policies on eligibility; and the purpose, use, and types of medical records used by the Army are included in this subcourse.

This subcourse will provide an overview of the many facets of medical recordkeeping, the administrative aspects of support health care, and the functions of the Office of the Chief, Patient Administration Division. Study of the text will enable you to familiarize yourself with the general policies and procedures of patient administration.
