Overview

Her human name is Eva. There was a time when she had a loving husband and a son, Marco. When she had a wonderful career. But that was before she was infested by Edriss 562. Before the invasion of Earth. Now, Edriss 562 lives in Eva's head and controls her every movement. And through Eva, Edriss has become the highest-ranking general in the Yeerk empire, surpassing even her arch rival, Visser Three. She is Visser One.

But it has become known that Visser One's tactics for attaining her current position were less than acceptable -- even to the Yeerks. Now she's on trial for treason. If she's found innocent she'll continue to rule. But if she's found guilty, she'll lose her life -- and possibly the life of her host, Eva. Which will mean that Marco will never, ever see his mother again...

This shows a lot about politics and cults. This shows how Visser one created the "Sharing" The Yeerk read everything available about Cults, Religion, and Social Indoctrination. The first meetings were lead by a host body selected for a face, form and voice deemed inspiring, though without the Visser in his head he was quite stupid. The Sharing's "Founder" was nothing more than figurehead, a puppet to be pulled at will. Eventually that "Founder" was eliminated. The Yeerk believed humans would revere the dead, but tare down a living leader. The outer sharing was a way for members of to blame others for their weaknesses and failures. It claimed to about community, compassion and charity, but that was nothing but double speak for domination, greed and power. The Inner Sharing was the point where members surrender all control to the Sharing. In cults and similar groups, people give up control their minds, hearts, bodies, and their entire future, just for the promise/belief that it makes them special. Visser One took that to a physical point beyond any Earth Cult, took it to the point of human's willing accepting a Yeerk. The trial of Visser One showed so much about politics. The "Trial" was a farce. It was a power struggle between the Vissers. Visser One would be convicted if Visser Three proved to be stronger. Neither Visser One, Visser Three, or the council cared about laws being broken. Near the beginning Visser Three faked an Animorph attack. He had a starved Tiger and Bear thrown in the room, and had a pair a Hork Bajir pretend to Hork Bajir Morphs. Then he killed them all. With a single act of fraud he'd made the council believe he'd destroyed the Animorphs. Leaving Visser One all but helpless against him. Visser Three also had much evidence against Visser One ready. She'd been defeated. Her salvation came from the Council, they'd had their own agenda in the trial. From the start Visser Three wasn't supposed to win. They wanted a way out, they wanted One to discredit Three. One gave it to them by calling Marco for help. Back in the court room she stalled for time. Then she had to keep everyone distracted as Ax demorphed. Immediately afterwards a Polar Bear, a Tiger, an Ape, and two actual Hork Bajir Morphs entered the Court Room. In such a confined area the Yeerks couldn't use their weapons. The battle was fought only with blades, claws, talons, and teeth. The Bear, and Tiger took down controlers left and right, and second by second it was impossible to tell real Hork Bajir from morphs. The Council saw for themselves what a handful of Morph Capable Warriors could do. The reality, not the staged show Visser Three had put on. It didn't matter that they'd learned what Three had been up against. All that mattered was he treated them as fools, and been caught in his deception. He'd doomed himself. At the end both Vissers were convicted and sentenced to death, and both sentences were suspended. After all that the Council left both unharmed, simply because they had no one to replace them with.

I love reading K.A. Applegate's matterial and in this book she out did herself. I have read it many times over and, normally, I just cast a book aside when I have finished reading it (if I finish). It is well worth every penny!!!

This book is mostly about Visser One on trial for past events and before the invasion of Earth began. There is only a couple of surprising parts in it(Very surprising) but that's the only thing good about the book because you'll find out that Visser One has done some very naughty things.

I think K.A. Applegate writes the best books EVER! This book is a must read! I love how this time, it is the villians point of view. This is an incredibly GREAT book! This book makes you feel bad for the villian..... towards the ending it is a real twist, a very surprising ending! Great job K.A, i think you should make some more Alien books! They're Wonderful! These books really get your blood flowing!

This book is just great. This is the only, I mean it, the only book written completely from the villian's point of view. And, as always, K.A Applegate's writing style made me feel sorry for the villain, I felt like going to Marco and the others and telling them point blank that they were after the wrong race. It's just amazing how she does that. You just feel you're there. For the last couple of months I've been having these wierd dreams with all of them in it, it's just miraculous. Also the twist in the story is very good but surprising as I'm guessing that not many of you people believe that she has a consience. It fits in perfectly with the real series and I loved every second in which I read it, I hope you will too.

The cover for this book is shinny and holographis, which was rainbowy, and I liked that. It was an okay book, not the best. This book is about the trial of visser one. She tells her whole life story. What ever happenesd to lauara, Elfangor's wife?!

This book is the best out of everything I have ever read by K.A.Applegate!It has humor, drama, and action and gives you real insight to how Visser1 thinks. The basic plot is that Visser1 is on trial for treason with the Council of Thirteen and if she is found guilty she will be sentenced to death and Marco will never see his mother again. This subject raises conflicting emotions as well as a twist in the story that I wont tell you the particulars of.

This was an EXCELLENT book. Visser One and Visser Three are put on trial for treason and must defend themselves, buy telling what the other has done. It also tells how the Yeerk invasion got started, but it's not an all out story because Visser Three, The Council of Thirteen interupt and have their say. IT is full of suprises and will make you root for the bad guy!
