About the Author

Author, Leslie F. "Buzz" Harcus served in the United States Marine Corps in Tsingtao, China,in 1947-48 in FMF-WESPAC. Buzz honed his writing skills at Michigan State University, then in television production, media relations, promotion and in public health,

before retiring.

He and his wife, Barbara live in northern Michigan where he enjoys writing, playing his banjo, and entertaining friends, neighbors and family.

His first book, "China Marine: Tsingtao Treasure," follows the adventure of former Marine Corporal Harry Martin as he returns to China aboard the Swedish grain carrier, Otto J. Nurad, in search of hidden black market money. Released in late 2005, the book was welcomed by Marines and the general public. Responding to the demands of readers who fell in

love with his characters in the first novel, and wanted more of them, Buzz wrote "Tainted Treasure," which follows the main characters of the first novel on a new adventure aboard the Swedish grain carrier as it departs the port of Qingdao, China, headed into the South China seas facing pirates, weather and the evils of mankind. Then Buzz switched gears to publish a detective novel. Web of Greed is an action packed, gritty police mystery that follows Kemah, Texas, homicide detective Sam August in trying to solve a complicated case of multiple murders. Sammy soon finds himself embroiled in a complex web of double-dealing, sex, computer chips and murder. Helping Sammy is his retired partner, William F. "Bill" Bailey, a cantankerous old Marine.
