About the Author

Piper Vaughn wrote her first love story at eleven and never looked back. Since then, she's known that writing in some form was exactly what she wanted to do. A reader at the core, Piper loves nothing more than getting lost in a great book--fantasy, young adult, romance, she loves them all (and has a two thousand book library to prove it!). She grew up in Chicago, in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, and loves to put faces and characters of every ethnicity in her stories, so her fictional worlds are as colorful as the real one. Above all, she believes that everyone needs a little true love in their life...even if it's only in a book.

Story was touching, and steamy in just the right way. Great read

Jonah has crushed on his brother’s best friend, Laurie, for many years but he doesn’t know how to get Laurie to see him as a potential lover. In the hopes of getting Laurie’s sympathy, Jonah claims to have an ex-boyfriend who broke up with him when he wouldn’t have sex. He tells Laurie he doesn’t want to go to college and embarrasses himself with his lack of knowledge so he asks Laurie to sleep with him and take his virginity. Laurie is shocked at first and tells him no but the more he thinks about it, the more he has to admit that he’s experienced some very non-brotherly thoughts about Jonah recently. I really enjoyed this one and wish it could have been longer because I loved both these guys. For such a short novella, this was very well developed and felt much longer to read than it actually was. Jonah might be inexperienced but he knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to go after it. He’s also surprising protective of Laurie and I truly enjoyed the confrontation between Jonah and Travis — Travis so had that coming. Laurie was so sweet and gentle with Jonah and he really wanted to make sure Jonah’s first time was something he could cherish. Jonah was his friend first and he wanted to do right by him but also move into this new phase of their relationship. They were really great together. I also really liked Marcus and he was a great friend to Laurie. I was surprised with how the best friend’s sibling issue worked out and I actually liked it more than the usual angry confrontation that occurs in these types of books. Marcus recognized Laurie’s worth and how he would be the perfect guy for Jonah.

Great characters. I liked Jonah's sweet innocence and Laurie's gentle loving nature. I'm grabbing "Giving In" and am looking forward to "Ringing True" as soon as it's available.  Adult read

Great story, but the formatting is weird. Lots of random (I'm talking mid-word) italics.

The little women name references were a little disturbing.
