Love the plot characters especially Riley and Cj since theyre the main ones. One thing i didnnt understand was the marriage thing and why she thinks she made a mistake. Atleast i gave it the four stars it deserves.

Read it. Just do it. Incredible story, characters, humor...the list goes on. I really have nothing more to say but buy this book and set aside several hours to enjoy this ride. I couldn't help but smile while reading! Thank you for this fantastic book and I will definitely be checking out more books by this author.

Loved this book! I had read the other books in the Alabama series, so I was eagerly awaiting this book's release. It was definitely worth the wait! CJ and Reilly's is a sweet and sexy story that had a hard time putting down. You don't have to have read the other books in the series to read this one, but I still recommend them. J. Daniels is one of my favorite romance writers!

Riley and CJ start off with a bang, literally! But then he was friend zoned when she discovered that her ex wasn't really an ex. Riley bugged me a bit with the way she gave in so easily to her ex, but I expect her age and inexperience had something to do with it. CJ on the other hand is older, wiser and oh so patient with her. He agrees to be friends, but I loved that he never really gave up on her and flirted shamelessly. It was great that they actually became friends before becoming lovers again. If you're a fan of NA romance, you'll enjoy it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

As I looked back through my highlights and notes about this book I honestly thought I had highlighted more poetic and romantic quotes, but I hadn’t. I panicked for a second until I realized that my highlighted quotes were fine. They’re fine because they were perfect quotes and passages for this book. CJ and Riley’s story was sexy, wild, and romantic but most of all (to me any way) it was hilarious. From the moment they met at her brother’s wedding, the chemistry between CJ and Riley was explosive. (Like fireworks.) Riley is a super sweet, free spirit that’s been caged far too long by her awful ex boyfriend. Her ex was a grade-A-toolbag and he grated on my nerves from the very first scene of the book. What kind of a jerk gives a girl grief for going to her brother’s wedding?! Tully on the other hand is the bees knees. He’s a true southern gentlemen and treats ladies with utmost respect. His job as a police officer seems perfect for such a knight in shining armor. He’s a true hero and also one of the hottest book boyfriends I’ve ever read! “Why am I the only person at this table who didn’t know you were riding the Tully train?” This is the first book I’ve read from J. Daniels’s Alabama Summer series. I was worried about reading a book from a series without reading any of the prior books but the blurb does say it can be read as a standalone. The blurb was right and the author did a great job of explaining any backstory that we truly needed to know. I’m sure there were several cameos and snippits that readers of the entire series will get that those of us who haven’t read the series will miss, but I was able to enjoy this story regardless. I give What I Need 4.5 out of 5 Krissy’s Stars. I’m totally going to have to read the previous four books in this series! I’ll have to wait til’ I have time to grab myself a coconutty drink in honor of CJ and Riley and devour them all. Xo-K *I was generously given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Riley Tennyson arrives at her brother’s wedding without a date. She has just broken up with her jealous, spiteful, live-in boyfriend before heading to the beach for the wedding. The night before the ceremony, she meets CJ Tully, her brother’s friend and a police officer from Ruxton, Alabama. She’s instantly attracted to the exceptionally well-built, smooth-talker. With just a little help from tequila, she and CJ spend a wild, passionate night together. The feelings they develop for each other are strong, but when she returns home, Riley learns that her boyfriend didn’t know they were broken up and wants to make their relationship work. Out of desperation, CJ agrees to be friends with Riley. After CJ is injured and Riley gets rid of her no-good boyfriend, she agrees to move in with CJ to take care of him during his recovery. These two are perfect for each other. Riley is the kind of woman you’d like to be friends with, while CJ would make any woman swoon. He could teach other men lessons on how to be a good man. In addition to being a genuinely good guy, he’s funny, easy to get along with, sexy as hell, and quite the protective alpha male. He’s a great combination of sweet and dirty, calling Riley his darlin’ in one breath and telling her all the dirty things he wants to do with her in the next. J Daniels, writes these characters in such a way that they seem like people you could know. She makes you feel what they feel and long for their happy ending. This book just made me happy. In addition to giving us CJ and Riley, Daniels gives us a look at the lives of our favorite heroes and heroines from the other books in the Alabama Summer series. If you haven’t yet read Where I Belong, All I Want, When I Fall, and Where We Belong, it’s okay (but get on that). What I Need can be read as a stand-alone. If you have read them, then you already know what to expect from J Daniels. Get your hands on this book asap. I’ll tell you a secret. You’ll fall in love with CJ Tully.

CJ and Riley have been on my wish list for a while now, and it was certainly worth the wait! Police officer CJ Tully is all of my favorite things wrapped up in a hot as sin body. He’s that straight shooter, gentleman when warranted, dirty talking panty dropper, ride or die type of man, all while working out to some bass-thumpin’ Jay-Z. Sweet Jesus! Riley is the sweetest, kindest person, with a heart of gold. Her boyfriend’s a jerk, her brother Reed hates him, and Riley’s feeling kinda caught in the middle. After some stuff happens in the book I won’t tell you about, CJ and Riley are kind of thrown together. During this time, they learn so much about themselves, and each other as this story unfolds. This was such a beautiful story with lots of feels, and a whole lot of steamy scenes. You also get to catch up on the rest of the Bama gang, which is always great. Jessica always writes a great story, and you know you’ll get an HEA. It’s the ride she takes you on that’s a testament to her writing. I’ve read everything she’s written, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. What I Need is the 4th book in the Alabama Summer series. I voluntary reviewed an ARC of this book, and I give it 5 stars.
