Once upon a time I scribbled.
The stories in this book are what I scribbled.
Once upon a time I participated in a program at the library called “Shush Up and Write!” I had to sit for a whole hour and write. No talking! No stopping to edit! Just write, write and write. So with nothing but a pen and some pads of paper, I wrote. I scribbled.
Until then, I usually wrote using a computer. Until then, I edited heavily as I was writing. When I learned of this new and strange way of writing, I was skeptical at first. But after that first Tuesday night, I was convinced.
I continued in the program for almost a year. I wrote Tuesday nights at the library and other nights while lying on my couch at home, pen in hand, pad in lap.
The short stories in this book are some of the results of this writing experiment.
