As the author of Doctors' Orders: What 101 Doctors Do to Stay Healthy (September 2002, Kensington)I have to say that the book What Your Doctor Doesn't Know about Nutritional Medicine May Be Killing You is a good concept. However, I also know that there are doctors worldwide who do indeed practice nutritional medicine and are saving peoples' lives every day. This book, as is mine, is a wake-up call to docs and patients to learn how to turn to preventive medicine (read: a healthful nutrient-dense diet) for wellness and longevity.

I read extensively about health, nutrition and disease prevention. Bar none, this is the best book I've read that covers the gamut of major diseases and health concerns. The text is easy to read and understand - even for those who are NOT familiar with various health terms. The info is laid out in a well-thought out, logical manner. You will definitely wonder why you haven't learned about this info before... and the answer is also provided in the book. I have been searching for a doctor or a resource that combines the best of the medical world with the best of the nutritional world. I've known all along you cannot have health without nutrition - any doctor who says that nutrition doesn't matter is a dolt. (That's like saying that oxygen isn't important.) Well, I finally found the doctor and the resource. (Wish he were in my home state, though!) This is a keeper for your long term library. Every chapter has excellent info that can improve or maintain your health or ... it may benefit your immediate and extended family, your friends and acquaintances, even strangers that you may "touch". Truly, don't miss a single page in this book. Then, keep it handy for reference for years to come because not only is the information excellent but it is also timeless.

great book. put in simple terms so it is understandable for the layman but clinical enough for the health care professional. great insight into the factors influencing research today and great use of documented medical research to enable the reader to indeed prevent disease rather than being restricted to treating it.

This book has uniquely outstanding insight into an important issue. Dr. Strand has been my family doctor here in Rapid City for 10 years, and his firm and steady caring has kept us all healthy. I highly recommend.

The book was well researched from the best medical journals and that it is all true from his actual experiences with his patients. It gives us much needed advise on how to control and protect our own health. Thank you Dr. Strand for all this wonderful information that I will try to put into action in my own life.

This book could save the life of you and your loved ones. Dr. Strand documents the effects of cellular nutrition and gives hope to those who have become accustomed to their illnesses. Degenerative disease need not ravage our bodies.

Well written and packed with powerful information we all need to know! You don't have to be a doctor to read this book, but I wish more doctor's could get their hands on it.

I was lucky to meet Dr Strand & his wife while in I was in Salt Lake City attending a USANA nutritional conference. His wife has had fibromyalgia for the past 18 years. This disease used to be called "psychosomatic rheumatism. (In your Head) As I listened to her story on how traditional medicine failed her and how USANA nutritionals got her back on her feet, my belief in Nutritional products went through the roof! I purchased two of Dr Strand¿s books, one for me and gave the other to my Doctor. This book is a must for anyone concerned about True Health! Thanks You Dr. Strand!

Christian Scientists and members of other healing cults might find this book useful. However, if you're looking for a book on the science of nutrition, look further.
