I must admit I ordered this book for review because I was intrigued about how a woman of 55 can look so good. Hair, skin, nails, clothes, even shoes everyday, and all day. For those of us who don¿t have an unlimited budget to work with, taking care of your health as well as we would like doesn¿t happen for the most part. Looking our best may be being swamped in the middle of 6 children at one time, homeschooling, 2-3 loads of dishes in the dishwasher and 2-3 loads of clothes. Fixing 3 nutritious meals everyday, cleaning and all while trying to maintain some balance in the world of being a pastors wife.

After reading the first part of this book I realized that this book is really about Robin, not about the rest of us. I got out of it that she was more excited about telling us about herself than she was about how to stay healthy and look good so we would BE healthy and feel good. I think that by the time a woman has reached her 50¿s, none of the things that Robin has talked about doing will make much of a difference. Most of the things had to have been focused on during their 20¿s, 30¿s and 40¿s to make a difference. If they are looking for a quick fix to look like Robin McGraw, they aren¿t going to find it in this book. This book was a huge disappointment for me.

i really enjoyed reading this book.it is full of great information that i can use starting tomorrow!! i have always felt like robin could be my friend. she has the ability to make me feel like i deserve to take better care of myself. she seems very real and down to earth. it is obvious she started taking care of herself long before she moved to hollywood. i will buy this book for my daughter and my friends!

I am sure Ms. McGraw is very healthy and very happy--and I am glad for her. She has been working at it for a long time and I applaud her for that...but if you are already in your 40's or 50's, and you are looking for a book with the inspiration to help you to turn the 'aging' mistakes of your youth around, you will not find it here. Ms. McGraw, blessed with a high metabolism in her early years, enough monetary security to remain a homemaker to young children, able to hire personal trainers and to live in Beverly Hills does not typify the woman who would think to pick up this book based on its title or premise. Instead of using the time to read it, we would all be doing ourselves a favor by simply spending a couple hours walking around the block.

I haven't read this book by Robin McGraw, but I bought and read her book "Inside My Heart. It sounds like both books contain some similar things. I wasn't real impressed with her first book, because it basically promotes her life style. It sounds like this one does too. After reading Inside My Heart I emailed her and told her that I don't know anybody that can afford to do the things that she does. Not everybody can afford to eat healthy foods and take medicines other than the ones that are exactly necessary to live. Inside My Heart was interesting reading, mainly because of the way it is written, but for most women, it isn't a realistic life style. To me it also sounded like that until she and Dr. Phil established an actual relationship she kind of was stalking him. She made a statement something to the effect that shortly after she met him she decided that was who she was going to marry. It wasn't even long enough to determine if she loved him.

I was less than halfway through this book when I reached my conclusion: Fifty-five year old Robin McGraw needs to get a life. She sounds like she¿s a twenty year old who believes her value lies solely in her appearance. Obviously, there¿s money in looking good so perhaps for a select few, McGraw included, it is a profitable career. For the rest of us, this book contains a lot of nonsense. My house payment is less than what McGraw spends monthly on facial treatments and beauty products.

Barring all that, there is some benefit to reading the book. Besides hair, makeup, fashion and skin care advice, Mrs. McGraw offers chapters on fitness, nutrition, hormones and faith, each chapter including advice from experts. Along with her high-end recommendations, she also suggests home remedies and home workout plans so everyone can get started living healthier, regardless your budget.

¿No matter how old you are, today is the first day of the rest of your life; so why not start on a healthy foot?¿ McGraw challenges the reader. Her proactive attitude is motivational while her step-by-step instructions are written with clarity, providing hundreds of ways for you to be healthier. Her chapter on hormones is especially detailed.

There is no doubt if you want to improve yourself, this book can show you how. I¿d wager most of us don¿t have the time or money to do much of what is recommended, but more importantly: Why would we? Good health is one thing, but self-indulgence and self-adoration seem a little too focused on¿. well¿ self.

In What¿s Age Got TO Do With It? Robin McGraw, wife to Dr. Phil, shares what she has learned and uses to stay looking and feeling young. Chapters include topics such as fitness, nutrition, skin care, hormones, hair, makeup and fashion. The book is largely about her and what she does, but there is a good deal of helpful¿though basic and non-groundbreaking¿information. In her chapter on fitness she provides ideas on how to stay fit without the personal trainer who she now has access to, and how she did it at home with little to no equipment when she had little kids and little money. In the chapter on nutrition she includes a twelve day sample menu of a healthy diet. I found the skin care chapter especially useful because it is something that I know little about, and as I approach my 30th birthday in the fall, and am seeing those fine lines start to appear, I appreciate the basic information, including recipes for simple food based scrubs and products, and exercises to firm the neck and jaw.

Though there is not really any new information in the book, and the subjects are not studied in depth, I found this book to be a good base on taking care of your body, and also found it interesting to read about the life of Robin. I appreciate her encouragement of women to take care of themselves, and stop thinking of everyone else first.

I am very pleased with this book by Robin McGraw. I have the books she has written and never fail to enjoy them. She is down to earth and gives information that anyone can follow at home.

It makes for feel good reading and some good info but as soon as you put down the book reality sets in, fantasy is over for most of us who have'nt been independently wealthy and stress free for the last 25+ years.

While I found the book to be interesting and inspiring, I found that I already knew most of the information provided. If a person has read any health magazines or researched any medical information, they probably already knew most of what was covered in the book. I enjoyed reading about Robin's childhood and home life, and was impressed with her ability to put herself first right from the start. That's something I have never been able to do. The information about hormones was new information to me; I didn't know that you could have your levels checked so frequently. Her makeup routine is way more than I will ever do, and her experience at makeup counters has been far different from mine--I'm not so sure a lot of stores are willing to help you out as much as they did her. Her thoughts on style was interesting and I envy her ability to instinctively know what looks good on her. Overall, the book was a good read, but not a lot of information I didn't already know.

I admit I'm still reading through this book. It's got alot of information to go through, but what I've read is interesting and informative. Here is a woman who really knows how to take care of her body and her looks! Some of the stuff that she buys to help herself look good are pricey and not everyone can afford it (me included). I'm not annoyed by that, after all, it is Robin's story and I can take it or leave it. I also like reading up on the advice by the experts that she knows. That makes the book really worth it to me. The book has a very friendly tone, which I appreciate and I feel that she does not talk down to women. It is now going to be in my permanant library.
