About the Author

Sylvia Rimm, Ph.D., is a best-selling author of many books on parenting and has appeared regularly on NBC’s Today show. As director of the Family Achievement Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and as a clinical professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Dr. Rimm is a foremost expert on how to raise children in an environment that encourages learning and achievement. Dr. Rimm writes a parenting column, syndicated through Creators Syndicate, and she has served for many years on the Board of Directors of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). She received her master’s and doctoral degrees in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A mother of four, Dr. Rimm lives in Ohio with her husband.
